Hey all. Old vanilla boomer here.
In the demo, which I am really enjoying, the Barrens has 10x more content than Westfall does.
I feel as though it wasn't very fair to give the Alliance only Westfall when the Barrens has content that surpasses level 19.
Basically, the Barrens is Westfall + Redridge being generous. Anyone else notice this, or not care really lol. Just seems off to me.
I agree. Let’s bring back the fight over which faction Blizzard favors. Did you notice one of the Classic devs shouted “For the Horde?” Orc Stun resist buff confirmed.

yea this went through my head the entire time. like we are already seeing a little bit of bias in that regard...it most certainly took them more time and effort to bring the barrens up to speed compared to westfall.
It was a technology demo, not an experience demo. The goal wasn't to let people taste the experience, but rather have people see and feel how the Legion framework was used for Classic.
It would give some people an idea of how it will be, (no quest icons on minimap, slow killing speed, drinking/eating a thing... etc.
But really, it was more of a "let's see if the majority accept Classic being built on Legion framework".

Westfall did get the short end of the stick. But it wasn't that bad.
FOR THE HORDE
In the Westfall side of the demo do you have a populated tunnel system under Moonbrook to grind through? That can be pretty entertaining if you run out of content
Personally I don't believe they thought that far ahead, but also I don't think Alliance even has a zone that would compare.
The other two similar zones for Alliance are Loch Modan and Darkshore. Neither of those has a dungeon entrance, so if Blizzard had done them it would have felt even more biased instead of more balanced.
The other option would have been Silverpine Forest for Horde. That might have been a better balance as it also had a dungeon entrance, but in terms of the iconic feel they were going for it might not have filled the bill.

There isn't an alliance zone that compares to the barrens. I haven't played horde much (especially in vanilla) so it's been a lot of fun doing all the quests.
As an alliance player I would come to the barrens anyway to do all the ratchet quests. But there wasn't any other alliance towns before Cataclysm, there was a dwarf fortress but it wasn't a town.
I agree with you.11/07/2018 07:51 AMPosted by HafebeefHey all. Old vanilla boomer here.

Blizzard should make the Horde as unappealing as they possibly can going into Classic's re-release. I would like to make a Change.Org petition that Big Daddy Blizz open up shiny toys for the alliance to play with, just add sparkly sh*t.
We need as many of the entitled 12 year olds to flock back over to the Alliance as possible. Just allow the Horde players to run around the Valley of Trials for an hour without sharding. Give Allies LFR, sharding, shiny sh*t, cross-realm everything. This will hopefully filter out the undesirables from even considering picking anything other than a blonde haired, blue-eyed freak(or, even worse, an elf).
Make Horde Great Again, Make Azeroth Great Again - F**k the Alliance
I absolutely enjoyed getting the barrens back! I think picking that zone for Horde side was spot in, it is an iconic zone.
Did some Westfall too in demo, and it was fun. IMO though not an iconic Alliance zone. I would have loved Elwynn instead, but that would have implied different level characters. But if they had developed the 15-19 out, good chance they may have done the lower level ones already...

There’s no Alliance zone that really compares to the Barrens, which has a massive questing range of lvls 10-25ish, Westfall is 10-20ish and comes the closest. I think it’s moreso just how the zones are designed, and that there’s many more Alliance zones where leveling can be done (Loch Modan, Darkshore, Redridge) but it’s not reflected in the demo because it’s just one zone.

How many memes came out of Westfall? I know it wouldn't have made sense, but I would have rather seen the Alliance side start in Elwynn or Duskwood for the demo.
Horde bias confirmed again.
EDIT: I suppose I should state this was a joke, on the likelihood that I get backlash from it.

Its nothing compared to grinding elites with a huge raid in rfd/rfk area. Barrens has so many quests its crazy. You are out of quests at like 17 in Westfall and grinding yellows and greens afterwards lol.
Barrens has quest for 22-25 down south. I did them in a group of 2 on the demo and I will say they are not worth doing at level 19 lol.

More fleshed out alliance cities
Paladins bs bubbles and buffs
Alliance massive AV advantage
Alliance zones completed first
Alliance have the frost saber rep grind, while horde lacks the un'goro raptor grind
More quest unique items / trinkets (i.e. furbolg suit)
Many Alliance friendly mobs/areas to gank horde in (Hillsbrad farm/dwarves, the barrens, durotar, etc.)
Alliance better access to Black Rock Mountain
Tell me more about how OG Blizzard didn't have favoritism.

Horde was the faction for men, alliance was the faction for pansies. I will take the difficulty of horde any day.
Horde racials...
ok bye.
