You know that must-have talent for anyone playing Demo.
I really don’t enjoy it. A button that I have to press every 10 sec with zero feedback. Often forget to use it. The lack of effect/feedback makes it super not satisfying to use.
I wish From the Shadows was a competitive alternative so I could free up 1 keybind.

It does feel like a button that is just there to increase rotation complexity.
I think it would be nicer if they doubled the CD and the soulshard gain. Having another soulshard generator is fine, it just needs to stand out from Shadowbolt a bit more.
I hate any talent that’s directly linked to the felguard. We’re supposed to be a master of demons and that seems to be the only viable guy we ever get to use
kinda wish we had more options.
But anyway, yeah I agree. I hate it. “Here’s a button to push for a soul shard”.

They should make it usable on any pet, not just the felguard.

Definitely agree with this. Demons were designed as a sort of swiss army knife for the class. When you have a talent that only affects one of the many Demons at your disposable, it defeats the purpose of that design. When you have multiple talents that only affect that specific Demon, there is a clear lack of either understanding or appreciation of that design.

I admit I like the talent very much.

I like it for only one thing… it makes the felgard rush the target and pick up agro. It’s my opener in pvp and world questing. Other than that it sucks.

I personally really enjoy the idea of commanding your felguard to strike, I just dont think it should be a talent. From the shadows is way more boring since it’s just passive damage. Demo already has very few buttons I don’t know why you want a three button rotation. If you want a stupid easy class to play then go play DH or Hunter.

With Shadow Bolt, Demonbolt, Hand of Gul’dan, Call Dreadstalkers and Explosive Potential thats 5 buttons already so I don’t know what you’re talking about with your three button rotation.
Dreadstalkers is a 20 second cd so you cast it and forget it, demonbolt you only cast when u have a proc. Your main filler spells are shadow bolt and hog. Also implosion is really only for aoe so again wouldn’t consider it a part of our main rotation. Especially since we aren’t getting Explosive potential in shadowlands their will be very few reasons to use implosion.

They are all important attack I have to keybind and use all the time regardless.
Implosion is for the haste buff.
See the problem isn’t the class itself, the problem is that you aren’t comfortable with keybinds. When shadowlands come around implosion won’t see much use beyond use mob packs. Honestly demo feels like a really spammy spec, not because of how many abilities it has but due to the fact of how many procs we have and keeping up our demons. I find myself clicking demonbolt and hog way more then I find myself clicking soul strike.
I actually love Soul Strike, it’s userfull, it’s shard generation, it’s more control on the felguard, it’s soo good that it should have been baseline and work on all pets.

Yeah, I like Soul Strike, but dislike that I can only use it with felguard, want to use with all pets, same for Demonic Strength

Yup this bit is very useful. The only part of the talent that is enjoyable. Imagine having to pick a certain talent just to have your pet run over and attack a new mob though lol.

I actually use doom to initiate my pet attack opener and save soul strike for when the target starts to run so the felguard can fast pursue.

Doom is a dead talent /spell. A net dps lose.
I like it as an attack. Extra mobility, target switching to some extent, shardgen.
But yes it is incredibly boring to hit for a talented spell. Should be made baseline and untied from felguard
Yep, this is the same reason as why Demonic Empowerment was bad, and why I personally don’t think Life Tap worked for Warlocks since, like, MoP.
All 3 are short cd maintenance spells that needed to be used frequently to maintain dps, with little to no feedback. Demonic Empowerment made your demons stronger as well as increasing the value of Thal’kiel, but visually did nothing. Lifetap was required frequently to restore mana so you could keep dpsing, in a game where no other dps had any mana management except for Arcane Mage, which made mana management into a game in of itself while mana hungry warlocks just had to try limiting its use to while moving.
And Soul Strike? It’s necessary for having an instant attack, that generates a shard and grants slightly better control over your pet.
They’re all good, but all have the same problem. They need to be used frequently but they also feel like you just did nothing when you do use them. They lacked impact. Demonic Empowerment would be better if it was on a longer cd, visibly empowered your demons and promoted a small demonic army playstyle. Life Tap would be better if it allowed you to cast supercharged versions of spells at the cost of health, preserving the life for power motif. Soul Strike would be better if the felguard even just had some kind of leaping strike animation to go witg it rather than just run and swing a sword. Yes, even just simple animation fixes would go far in saving some of these spells
They should at least give the same animation as Kill Command (hunters) when we use Soul Strike. Kill Command is much better. It has an animation and sound effect. Just show me that I did something ffs.
