Any time a Sporbit is about to explode, you can either run away or interrupt. Unfortunately, interrupting with either a fear, stun, or otherwise causes the monster to idle in combat and stays agroed but doesn’t chase you down. It also prevents you from looting curios and keeps you in combat. The only way around this is intentionally dying and not touching it again, or abandoning the delve and restarting.
