I love Delves. The fact that as a solo player I can get to 610 with close to the same effort that it takes a M+ player to get geard feels good. In the past I’ve had to get geared very slowly because I only got one to two pieces Champion Gear week. My only gripe about them is I wish Delves were more “Solo Content”. It should be restricted to 1-2 people.
The main reason I think they should be left Solo is trying to balance delves for both groups and solo players is just never going to work. Always turn out like it is currently or some classes struggle while others tackle it with ease. Delve should be capped at 1-2 people and be balanced around that ideal.
Here are some more valid points
I was trying to say that balancing, rewards ect ect moving forward should be focused around 1 to 2 players and delves should be capped at that.
Basic Point
Trying to balance Delves for groups and solo players will never work. If you get it completely challenging and balanced for solo players groups will find it laughably easy. If you balance it for groups solo players will find it near impossible. It will just never work right
This is completely an issue. Post T6. My DK can Breeze through T7/T8 as DPS spec while my Feal Druid got murdered.
This is another reason why they need to be left more solo and not allow groups because it’s easier to balance them for all classes that way around 1-2players
If you try to balance content for both groups and so no players one of the two is always going to feel unbalanced in this case it’s the solo player
Depends on your class I imagine. On my WW monk I find its actually faster to just do it solo. But on the couple casters I have its just easier in a group.
But as far as the OP goes, I have no idea what they are on about.
because delves are literally super easy as a group.
because groups already had M+ and raid.
because follower dungeons (the solo version of dungeons), doesn’t compare to M+ progression.
because it would be a good “solo player” achievement track for those who are competitive, instead of just a gear farm.
because what players requested was an updated version of mage tower challenges, not M+ lite.
So, in short… it’s best when each group size has their own progress track. It makes no sense that Delves accommodate groups, but M+ and raids don’t accommodate solo.
that right there… that’s literally the issue. The thing will continue to be poorly tuned for solo if they keep accommodating for groups.
On top of everything you said which is all completely valid it would be near impossible to balance delves around groups and solo players scaling wise. One of the two will always have a much easier time.
So my point in my original post was they need to stop trying to do that and just balance it around 1-2 people and cap them at that moving forward.
If you want to run in a small dedicated group M+ is your jam. If you want to run solo Delves has your back. Just leave it as that. Stop trying to mix the two which is what blizzard is currently doing
but it was never solo content, its clear as day it was designed from the ground up as group content, essentially a combination of the mage tower and heroic scenarios.
I was running t8 delves solo on my 572 balance druid. That druid was 608 by the end of the first day at 80. Delves give gear for way less effort than M+.
