anyone have tips for the last bosses of the delves, so far, its the biggest issue i faced as a warrior in t8, the non interruptable abilities they channel, they hit me for 1.5 to 2m hp per second and the moment i run out of defensive cds i am dead
They didn’t seriously tune these to be solo content, especially for casters.
You either do it with a group or hope you have a tank spec.
Brann heals for 20-60k on 3-4 million HP pools, that tells you everything you need to know about the testing and tuning. You always run him as DPS.
Yup, extremely poorly tuned for solo. Skittering Dark boss has 65m on T8, summons mobs every 10 seconds that have to killed in 4 seconds or they get a 50% shield and give the boss a 100% atk speed buff, but he also spawns growing DoT on the ground that the mobs cast in while standing in it.
Glad they pushed this as a way solo players can stay competitive. Bad devs are bad.
i tried to complete the t8 on my warrior on the 3 specs, it was impossible as arms/fury, on prot i was able to get to the last boss by taking my time and doing small pulls but whenever i got to the last bosses, i could not do enough damage and ended up running out of cds and the channeling abilities would end up killing me
i managed to finish the t8 by going with a group at least
What ilvl?
I think you just need to get brann to discover a rare artifact on the ground to give you +2% extra agility. That usually helps me when I’m doing a delve.
That dungeon wasn’t even the worse.
just boggles my mind that delves turned into this mage tower torgast garbage, its the COMPLETE opposite of what it was suposed to be, and holy crap there awful solo especially for casters , and this death limit on what is suposed to be casual content is mind boggling to me.
yah I’m not sure what to do for Skittering’s Nerl’athekk. usually if you’re patient you can let Brann get solid aggro. But about halfway through this one the boss just outright ignores bran and comes and swings at you for 590-680k a pop with crits around 1.3 mil on my 4million hps. There was a treasure that doubled my hp, but it seemed to be lost on death.
I blew all my defensives (as a pally which is a lot, Divine shield, potions, shield of vengeance. Divine Protection. plus, chain healing myself. Basically, nothing gets him refocused on Brann. Cleared up to him 5/5 with no issues, just taking my time.
which delve was this, waterworks? I did all the tier 8 bountifuls yesterday and only his fire channel was really scary. I just used spell reflect for each one and impending victory right out of it. otherwise i had no issues.
i was thinking the same. the suggested ilvl for some of these, solo, would be impossible.
Did Waxface on Waterworks T8 with ilvl 580 resto shaman with level 16 Brann. I heard a lot about him being rough before going in, but was able to finish with more revives than I had in some other delves, fortunately. Here’s what I found worked for me:
- Brann does pretty damn well for DPS and can often execute enemies when the still have a lot of health left.
- Combat curios used for Brann were Rage-filled idol (great for when you are a healer since he has a lot of health and never gets spiked for damage anywhere near players, so keeping him alive is comfy, even with this additional damage on him) and Streamlined Relic, but honestly, I should have used Amorphous Relic since getting that additional max HP as a proc would have been nice.
- For the delve, overall, make sure to drop the air totem as much as possible so that you can kite without causing it to reduce in size.
- Have Brann as DPS and start the fight slow without doing any damage so that he holds aggro. Brann is much tankier than any player is, so the more he’s focused, the better.
- Take the fight slow in order to prevent getting aggro as much as possible. Also don’t overheal if you can avoid it since this may draw aggro.
- Waxface’s Burn Away ability hits very hard over the duration of the cast and may do more damage than your health pool, but it doesn’t land all at once, so you can heal as this starts hitting you to survive it.
- Pre-HoT and cycle through cooldowns for Burn Away, but try not to use more than 1 cooldown at a time so that you have them available as much as possible.
- Earth elemental is your one true emergency cooldown if you get focused or for use when the boss is getting lower HP and you want to bloodlust and DPS heavily
this sounds really complicated for something they billed as quick solo content.
I mean…it’s not nearly as complicated if you don’t do it at the highest difficulty level. If you do a T8, particularly before being at the recommended 600 ilvl, then it will be a challenge, just as they said it would.
ok so these delves are mage tower content and we should have m+ gear to do them? you’re proving my point, these were billed as fun derpy solo something to do content, but they require you to have proper knowledge of your class/spec, unless you drastically outgear them, which most casual solo players don’t.
It would help, as a caster, that they let your toolkit work on the boss. By removing slows, there is just no way to get away from him.
Being able to slow a mob is crucial for almost all solo content as a caster.
Wasted all that time to get to the last boss just to watch him pummel me to death repeatedly. I wasn’t even close, and I’m pretty well geared right now.
Not sure who was testing these for solo content, but they are definitely not solo content if you’re looking for gear at your item level.
Umm…what? You don’t need to outgear it. I’m clearing T8s on 580 ilvl, but that doesn’t have to be how you approach them. 600 is recommended, which you can easily achieve by getting gear from world quests, using flightstones/crests, lower level delves, etc.
It’s the first week for T8 to be available, but you don’t need to be able to clear the highest level immediately. Use your keys on whatever level you are comfortable clearing and you’ll get the gear needed to do the higher levels.
It’s going to be ok. These delves will be available for a good while and you don’t need to be downing the highest difficulty on the first week.
You can CC them when they are channeling to break the shield and channel and they won’t channel anymore, but they will start shadow bolting you so you still have to kill them.
the death count is only for empowered, and just cause a tier is available doesn’t mean you have the gear needed to complete it yet. it’s not the “COMPLETE” opposite of what it’s supposed to be. It sounds like you just wanted it to be easily farmable solo content to get you heroic level gear on day one
that wasn’t far from how they advertised it.
