Delves have changed the game for me. I love them!

I can’t begin to describe just how much fun I’ve been having with delves. I’ve always been a very solitary player. Since Legion I’ve only done minimal dungeons and very occasional LFRs, and really just pottered along with world content gear. The big moments of gear “excitement” coming in the form of catch up stuff a few times per expansion. To now have a proper system that I can tackle on my own, in my own time, and see real progress feels amazing. I’ve been absolutely smashing them since friday night. Slowly progressing from tier 4 up to tier 8, and seeing my item level go up by tens of levels. I’m not exaggerating when I say these past few days are the most fun I’ve had in WoW in as long as I can remember. I’m now soaring on the high of seeing my vault with three complete slots. A first for me!

I get the frustration that folks have felt with all the changes, and I especially feel for people playing classes that really struggle with them mechanically. It big sucks that they didn’t make the effort to shape solo experiences on a per class basis, like mage towers. I’m lucky I went with ret paladin this expansion. Despite all the rebalancing that’s gone on these past few days the difficulty has always felt much the same to me. Ranging from “quite” to “very”. Never impossible and always satisfying. I hope they get everything ironed out real soon because I desperately want this game mode to be a hit and stick around. Blizz, make it happen!

100% agree! I had my ilvl jump almost 20 levels over the weekend. It was awesome. It just feels good to see that. And even better that you know “YOU” did this. You worked hard to beat the challenges. No one can take that away from you, even though people will try.

I’m pretty upset with delves at the moment but looking at the good parts:

  • I like that I can go solo OR with a group, that kind of flexibility is awesome
  • I like how they’re rewarding, that’s how all content should be, hate doing content for 38g and a green non-upgrade as a reward
  • I like the random cool transmog items you get here and there

As a solo player I now have access to non-useless gear and current content for play that isn’t World Quests.

I’m loving it

Brann’s lousy AI and the prevalent evade bugs put a damper on my enjoyment. Fix those by s2 and they’ll be looking pretty good.

I think they’re a step in the right direction but it’s a little awkward. They just stop at 8’s as far as ilvl value, really they should have committed to them as a full alternative, and continue to scale up the difficulty/gear.
It would be a huge lift to do this without making them feel mundane (how do you balance less technical encounters outside of scaling damage/health to ridiculous levels, and balance vs the difficulty of m+), but it would be great for solo players.
They’re generous for the difficulty/reward right now, but I wish they would keep them relevant. solo players <> skilled players, we like higher challenges and rewards too!

I go between playing with friends and doing things solo.

Delves for me have become some of the best content that I’ve had as a downtime activity. I am a huge fan.

I will be interesting to see what they do with them for season 2. I imagine more tiers will be high on the list. Even if they keep it similar to this season where the item level stops with several tiers further to go, they could have more tangible rewards otherwise. Maybe make each level beyond feel like a massive undertaking each. Although like you say…

I don’t know either. As long as they don’t add a timer!

Bran: ooh a shiny!
Me: Bran, get off it so I can pick it up!

Yea I really like them too. As a heroic raider though I wish there was some reason to do them after the first week :frowning: because M+ is going to quickly outscale all the delve gear

I like how they can be a personal challenge and offer meaningful gear rewards.

For me, I have loved Delves more joining groups. It makes them a lot more fun. Doing them solo is cool and great for those who don’t like grouping, but once I started doing them with other people, it definitely made me like them more.

I personally love delves, it’s the solo content I’ve wanted.
I really hope they keep doing them in the future and this expansion, I don’t want it to be abandoned…

yeah I’m so glad I’m not forced to do raid or M+ to have some gear. I’m more a solo type so it fits perfectly with my gameplay.

So the OP is a plant and the other comments are canned responses from bots. They sure sound that way.

I’m sure once they are properly tuned they will be much much better than mythics. It would be cool if they just iterated on delves and replaced mythic+ entirely.

Your vault looks like mine, except I did LFR and 8 heroic dungeons.

But yeah, to then see a string of tier 8s, I’m like “ok, I see my path”

I’m actually dreading that they’re going to add a timer for the harder difficulties. It’s one of my biggest turn offs for doing Mythic +, I don’t like having a clock dictating my pace.
