Delves-Good news

I wouldn’t think so, I have over 30 years in IT, but… it could happen, if Mr. Bean is in control of the IT department

Nah it was advertised as both and that’s why we should have seen this coming. :stuck_out_tongue:

There was never a way to make this content balanced and scaled around BOTH a 5 man M+ comp and a single class.

There isn’t even a way for them to balance it between all of the INDIVIDUAL classes.

So, imo, they failed at the point of idea, the rest was just inevitable. They always have when it comes to “challenging and rewarding” solo content though.

Many things need a HUGE nerf.
-Mobs should not be hitting for 30%-50% of your HP in 1 attack especially when mobs are in groups
-Tala and Velo, cool concept but allow them to be CC’d.
-If Zekvir spawns on top of you and you die by him it should not count towards the amount of lifes you have left. It’s complete RNG and it’s complete grief.
-Mobs should not be able to ignore LOS or have 45yd-60yd range on abilities

isnt that something ptr couldve helped with? is it just there for the optics?
“this data looks bad but let’s wait for it to be live to make sure”?

I agree, what do we do PTR for? What’s even worse is actual play mechanics info interpreted ?

Have we not learned from BfA or Shadowlands?

If tier 8 Delves are a walk in a park for groups and provide gear equivalent to M +5 and better gear than normal raids are regularly dropping, then it becomes mandatory for people playing those modes.

You can’t argue its not, because if there’s an easy way to get that good gear then somebody is going to do it and that compounds into everybody having to do it otherwise you’re the under-geared player that doesn’t get brought.

People didn’t like feeling forced to farm Islands for AP, they didn’t like feeling forced to farm Torghast, the same would apply for Delves. Blizzard have said in interviews that’s exactly what they don’t want to happen - it has nothing to do with the forums, they were always going to adjust group Delves when they saw them being cleared too easily.

Again, I don’t care. It’s already mandatory for us to have to raid and do mythic+ for gear so there’s no reason we can’t have other alternatives just because some of you don’t want to do our content the same way we don’t want to do yours.

Finally someone who raises a good and discussable issue.

Seems like it’s fixable, because Blizzard just announced that it’s a literal top priority fix for them.

yay for several reasons, hopefully we won’t see delves dominate the top ten of the forums

I’m literally a casual player, haven’t raided in my life and only ran like one M+ in BfA where my embarrassing performance in an Atal’Dazar put me off them for good. I’ve never found M+ and raids mandatory, nor particularly enticing - why would I need to get gear from them when all I was doing was stuff like WQs, islands and mog farming?

If Blizz are going to give us access to good gear, they are going to make us work for it - that’s how this game functions.

The only way they could get around that is by making “world” gear that’s useless in PvE content like raids/dungeons and PvP, just so we can get “upgrades” that are functionally useless outside of doing stuff in the world.

But is that really what you want? If WQs dropped ilvl 620 gear, would that really satisfy you? If so, for how long? How long before that becomes the baseline ilvl? Does Blizz just up it every season, then you spend time gathering gear that doesn’t really matter just so you can see the number go up?

I don’t know, I’d rather have something like Delves be a challenge that I can do in the usually limited time I have to play WoW, that way I can earn better gear and then put it to use without having to pug raids or run M+.

Sorry I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here but if you want an alternative to gear that isn’t raid or M+ then we are on the same page, delves can be a challenge without needing to be a long boring experience and are perfectly fine dropping heroic raid equivalent loot like they do now.

Just want to point out that this drove me nuts. I was trying to LoS as a tank and still getting hit around corners for huge chunks of damage. That should not be intended.

Didn’t they tell us that they wanted to make it, so tanks didn’t have to get crushed anymore and to balance out the healing? This is the total opposite. Again, raid mobs didn’t hit me this hard.

It kinda sucks as a tank for pallys in this instance, as a dk i pulled them hard and they died

The point is that Delves were not fine before the hotfix.

Group Delves were broken, they were objectively broken. We literally had spreadsheets showing how the scaling was making the Delves easier when you took more than one person.

It needed to be addressed.

Obviously something has gone wrong with the hotfix, nothing in what they laid out for the hotfix explains why group Delves are currently dealing unreasonable damage. Their damage was supposed to get nerfed to offset an increase in health.

Blizz need to fix that and get group Delves balanced properly - which is to be challenging content that people aren’t steamrolling for easy gear, without being literally unplayable.

Outside of group content Delves generally need a bit of work too, there’s some funky stuff going on. I met a new spider riding boss in my bountiful tier 8 today and I couldn’t seem to be able to LoS their venom cast after misusing my interrupt. Sure I shouldn’t have stuffed up in the first place, but if I use my mobility tools to get around a corner I should be able to recover and not get spammed through walls and die anyway.

Stuff like that does need to get fixed too, because that’s just wonky and not “challenging”.

lol everything on the forums is all doom and gloom. If there is a problem of course it’s fixable.

You make great points, in fact you sound as if you were once a folk lore icon.

While you’re at it, Blizzard… you should release everything on the same day. Enough of the timegating.

The whole concept of staggered releases is what causes everyone to go so hard into things like Delves, which come out before mythic plus so high-end players feel obligated to do them. And then they overgear themselves before the rest of us more casual players get the opportunity to play, so the chasm between gear levels in the player base is even more pronounced.

Raids, dungeon levels, delves, “story mode”: everything should come out at once. Do the right thing here.

Are you red shirt guy?

OMG u reset me - u r redshirt guy – live long and prosper dude
and the sea hunt bowling alleys are ready to play - i want to be the fourth

they were perfect at launch, you could solo and do groups. Now you cant group and barely solo.

funnily enough as 3 man group tank, healer, dps theyre still doable
