Delves do not feel like World of Warcraft

There’s your issue. If you’re not enjoying them, why torture yourself?

Give me Greater Rifts/Nightmare Dungeons from D3/D4 imo. I would enjoy them.

They’re literally scenarios, lol.

Combined with a bit of dungeon flair.

They fit in well.

I stopped doing delves when they neutered Brann. Now I just run Zekvirs.

8 zekvirs per week per alt.

absolutely love delves…a bit N64, but hope they keep them going forward.

Gear, obviously. My alts are all 600+ but just Delving lol Delves are starting to grow on me, but I played Delves for 3 hours straight and then felt like I didn’t play WoW for 3 hours.

Players really do be caring more about pixel numbers than playing a game for fun these days.

That’s my point, there are many gearing options. You’re doing content you don’t like just for gear. Gear that will be replaced. You don’t have to do all the options.

I’d rather have grand adventure delves or something. The delves feel far too simplistic and write off-ish. Like something if you was playing a D&D campaign your DM has on standby for when they need an off session to give your group something to do or some possible event to do between travels to big towns/cities/hubs instead of just having you roleplay days of mindless travel.

But for it to work, I kinda think it needs to have more than just Brann partying with you. Maybe have some of the prominent lore NPCs and tying into some of the more potential grander side story arcs. Like resolving the fae and her dead BFF storyline or Moira truly tapping into her Bronzebeard heiritage with her new smacky stick (maybe even a redemption-ish arc for that semi traitor Earthern in Hallowfall where he actually does become his own brand of true hero). Something that you work on solo as sort of a work in progress storyline for each delve.

Just spitballing.

I like delves and dislike raiding. Guess what I do and don’t do.

That isn’t even the point of this post though. My point was the Delves feel like their own thing entirely. Which I guess we’ve had other features added like this like pet battles and such. But they could expend Delves into a solo playstyle - let us make a new character and do Delves on them to level them and such. As a person who hates to quest, I would rather do the mini game that is Delves to level alts

Yea… But ppl keep forgetting you don’t have to do them alone.

The mode opens itself up to any role which is one of the biggest strengths of delves.

People can do duo tanks

You can do a trio with 2 heals and DPS

The list goes on

It is honestly sad

Well I do them solo for 3 reasons

  1. I don’t have any friends still playing, they all quit over the years
  2. I don’t trust pugs not to waste my lives in my tier 8s
  3. Because I can be as slow as I want and pickup all the treasure as I am still leveling up brann

And that’s fair, nothing is wrong with that.

But the way the person I replied to made it sound like a bad thing which is why I brought up how flexible it is with the roles and can be done with friends in duo or trio.

I’ve had some amazing runs not only alone but in groups with less than 5 ppl

They were super chill

If Greater Rift rip offs fit in WoW Delves fit in as well.

To me personally, Delves just feel like a mini-dungeon you can do alone. And honestly, Delves seem to have stuff in them that Blizzard are afraid to put into modern dungeons because modern dungeons have to be designed with speed running in mind due to m+
So, I’d say they feel like WoW to me.

World of Warcraft is a lobby game that has been masquerading as an MMORPG since at minimum Legion, but more likely WOTLK / Cata eras.

I don’t even know what WoW’s identity was supposed to have been for the last decade+, let alone the minor influence that is delves

Delves are the ultimate flex dungeon for me. Don’t need specific numbers of people, don’t necessarily need the 1-3-1 makeup, just run with whatever friends are around.

Could probably say Legion Assaults were Helltides from D4 as well

Wouldn’t be the first time the game leaned on each other lol

Looking at it from what would be a casual player aspect or one that doesn’t give a flip about Mythic + or Raiding and all the chest thumping or sweating. Delves are perhaps the most important add to WoW in ages that provide a end game that a casual can feel is content meant for them.
