Had some questions about delves, can anyone help? I’ve read guides on wowhead, icy veins, and watched several videos and can’t get clear answers.

  1. Once you unlock a tier, does it stay unlocked forever? Can I just start the next highest tier after reset? Or do we have to climb every week?
  2. Is there any reason for doing low tier delves, if you’ve unlocked 8+?
  3. How do you get the best gear from Great Vault (I’ve completed tier 4, but my GV says the best gear is 584 for completing a tier 1)
  4. Are “Delver’s Call” events a “daily” Delve with extra rewards?
  5. Are there daily/weekly repeatable quests for Delves?
  6. Can you really do 4 Bountiful Delves a day? All on same character?
  7. That’s a lot of keys…how do you get 4 coffer keys a day??

Thanks so much, I’m trying to put together a daily/weekly checklist for casuals (like) me and this info is desperately needed for including tasks needed for the gearing process.

  2. Not really. If you can do 8 you should do 8.

  3. Your great vault is based on the lowest tier you’ve completed over the threshold. Since the first slot unlocks at 2 completed delves, you’ll need to do 2 of them at tier 4 in order to get a tier 4 reward.

4/5. I actually have no idea which quests are daily/weekly! I think there will be some sort of weekly quest from Bran each week though.

  1. Yes, 4 per day, as long as you have keys.

  2. You can get 4 keys per week guaranteed. You can also get an extra few per week from shards that come from world quests or radiant memories. You can also get some bonus keys at some renown level with each faction (14? 16? something like that). People have so many because they’ve been saving them up since day one. Once they run out of initial keys people will not be able to do bountifuls every day.

Just a follow-up: is there a compelling reason to do max-tier bountifuls without keys? Maybe XP is better for Brann?

If you complete the needed number of delves (2,4,8 i think) on t8 you get 3 choices of 616 gear

Lots of rumors floating around still. What is the current highest level you can do?? 11 right?

yes you can use them to level Brann. even if you don’t unlock the big chest (the one that requires a key), the two blue chests have a chance to drop the map item that guarantees a higher ilvl item in your next same tier delve. they also have a chance to drop rep for a random faction.

haha not anymore with the changes. This morning was doing t8 fine, this afternoon getting absolutely smashed as a tank and not making it past the first room.

Once you ulock a certain tier you have unlocked that tier for all delves likely until the end of the season.

Not really.

Completing tier 8 will award you the best gear possible from the great vault. You need 2 to unlock the first slot, 4 to unlock the second, and 8 to unlock the third. The ilevel of the reward is based on the lowest delve ran within those 2/4/8 parameters.

As far as I can tell those are random. The rewards are minor and are really not worth going out of your way for. Just a little bonus if you happen to be running that delve anyways.

Yes. There are four bountiful delves each day (one in each zone). You can run all four every day if you wish, although you can only open the good chest with a key. The two other chests have a chance at a map that guarantees a nice reward, but the chance is pretty low for the map to drop.

You don’t. You get a key from the first 4 weekly quests you do that award a chest. Beyond that you can get a key from certain faction rep tiers, and certain world quests and world soul memory quests award key fragments (100 makes a key).

Once Brann hits level 15 he only gains experience from bountiful delves. Leveling him up will help immensely in the higher delves.

Also the two non locked chests have a roughly 4% (according to current data) chance to contain a bountiful map. This map will guarantee an extra chest in the next delve you complete of equal or higher tier to the delve the map dropped in (right click the map to “use it” before entering your next delve). The chest will contain a piece of gear with ilevel dictated by the tier of the delve the map dropped in. A map from a tier 8 delve contains a piece of hero track gear (ilevel 616 I believe).

Once Brann hits level 38, he stops gaining experience from delves at all.
