im an ilvl 581 devastation evoker tier 7 delves are immpossible depite me being higher than the recomended ilvl yet my paladin was clearing tier 7s at 560 ilvl this is complete bs

Found the problem.
Comparing one class to another by ilvl for solo content is a fruitless exercise.
I’m able to clear as dev at 606 but it’s still way harder than just playing pres and letting brann wile out.
It’s a question of defenses. Ret paladins are absurdly durable. Devastation is… not. Regardless, you should find them easier if you gain a bit more ilevel.
Lvl 7 delves item requirements are ilvl 587. I am 590 with my dragon, and I can clear lvl 7 delves. I tried lvl 8 delves, despite I can clear the dungean, I cant kill the last boss at earth mine delve.
Have you tried setting Brann to healer mode? Delves felt impossible to me too until I made that switch. It was brutal, but I was able to clear a couple 8s in the low 570s. Kiting and very precise cooldown/defensive management, cc and interrupts, etc… are all super important. At lower item levels you def also need to go slow and fight as few enemies at a time as possible; watch for mobs that stray away from the pack and try to aggro them without their buddies.
