Delves and different classes

Recently entered Fungal Folly Lvl 8 Bountiful. Cleared entire map up until the boss.
Gear lvl 627, embellished, oills and phials loaded. Tried every combination of curios and could not finish Boss off. The damage from the cackling hounds was insane. Mirror Images last for 2-3 seconds or less. Images spawn and are immediately killed.

Can take a Pally, warrior or a hunter under lesser gear and stats and can walk right through it.

The Bias on these different classes is remarkable. If one class can finish it off then all should…

Welcome to part of the reason why I eventually dropped my mage. On my monk that I’ve never once enchanted any gear, oils? What are they? Etc, I can just roll my face on my keyboard for teh win. Got tired of not being able to do the same on my mage. So I moved on.

This isn’t the first time either. Torghast, visions etc, it’s all the same. Not doable on mage. Perfectly fine on any other class.

I know it sux, been questing with Mage since Legion.

Loading the mage up with Damage is not the answer. It doesn’t matter now cause damage not high anyway in Boss encounter in this Delve. Not sure why someone would create mage class as weak anyway? You have all this BS old school knowledge crap, and nobody wants to think “out of the box”. Just follow along.

Maybe someday someone will get the message and remake this Mage class into something relevant.

Guess Ill just stick with BM Hunter for a little and move on to springtime outdoors!

The fact that the bosses are completely immune to most of our CC is a problem as we use says CC to survive.

Currently the only viable strategy is to ghetto tank with Mirror Images and Water Elemental and burn the boss down as hard as you can.

After that, you try to survive with Brann’s heals, barriers, and Ice Block until the boss is dead or Images and Icy Veins come back up.

So much this.

This is one of my main gripes with mage. Basically every other class can still use their defensives/utility cc’s (except maybe hunter ice trap?) so the blizz class designers make encounters with them in mind. But for some unfathomable reason, since pretty much none of mage cc works on rares, bosses or certain elites, half the mage toolkit gets effectively deleted. No other class gets their utility and defensive abilities deleted in this way. So mage players have to engage in an encounter with abilities removed from their class. Meanwhile you have paladins herpaderping with bubble etc. It’s the literal definition of unfair gameplay.

At a certain point you have to ask yourself, if the blizz devs are gonna make encounters that turn mage into a melee class, why not just play an actual melee class instead? So I did. :person_shrugging:

Was fine with tank brann before the nerf. Could nuke boss before Brann died. And if he did then use defensives till he ressed. Now Brann just gets nuked.

Melee (esp tanks) have much easier time in WoW’s solo content.

They can take more damage and what you need to stand still and cast, they do it instantly. Have shorter CD on interrupts and can keep dps while side-stepping bad stuff.

Petless MM Hunter is like a Mage. So on last PTR when they want to get rid of MM’s Pet, I fought back for it. And fortunately, I won the argument and Blizz didnt remove our Pet. If not, we would be like your Mage.

Look at me now, I eat Delves Tier 11 for breakfast… becoz I have a cheat code called Pet whenever Petless dont work. GG.

this is why we need to get tank brann unnerfed. he was supposed to exist for people who couldnt survive with healer or dps brann.

I honestly LOVE my mage, but you’re right. It’s hard to justify playing a mage at all if you’re a solo player.

I’m starting to think that the only way they can make delves a balanced experience for everyone is to have them scale based on class.

I did an 11 on my SP,was rough but i got through

At the very least stop handicapping specific classes by making bosses and mobs immune to their class mechanics.

Sadly, I had to do the same. Krad has been been my main for years now. But when he started having issues running around like an idiot avoiding delve bosses just hoping Brann gets that pot down and my mirror images come off cooldown to buy me some time. All my other alts don’t have an issue but my clothy mage just can’t take a punch. I haven’t tried him with Tank Brann yet but not really holding out hope there.

Tank Brann won’t even survive trash for long.

It’s just part of the mage class fantasy that they are unable to solo any meaningful content while a protection paladin wearing a garbage can and bucket on his head can just roll around on the ground farting out puddles of light and only has to stop to loot the bodies now and then.

solo delves is garbage for certain classes and nerfing brann just made it a lot worse, its clear blizzard has done a horrible job with testing devles because soloing is still a huge problem for specific classes, just continues to not be the good alternative single player end game it supposed to be.

They should beef up our images. 10% of our hp is fine against players, but not elites who can one-shot them.

We need to burn two cool downs with two global Cooldown to get them to survive (mirror images and mass barrier). This was fine before, but now barrier is one minute longer and doesn’t line up with images.

Mirror Images should take reduced direct damage, except from players. Increase the cool down to match mass barrier, but make them beefier.

I think that would help immensely with solo capabilities, rather than reworking our entire tool kit

My holy priest is no longer doing Delves thanks to nerf. Bran is now useless as a tank for me and apparently healers aren’t supposed to be able to play as a healer in delves.
