Delvers Only - What’s your impression of delve difficulty in S2?

Holy priest is pretty much the easiest non-tank to do delves with, imo, since tank Brann came along. Heck, even without him, holy priest’s only issue has been a lack of a true kick. Though, except for Zek?? it hasn’t really been an issue.

I think this depends on class or spec. On my mage, I usually benefit from having open space to kite. This delve is one of the more difficult ones for him. At least the boss has a Z axis to abuse, otherwise I don’t think I could even beat him in that small space.

Is that because of dominate mind? I have never actually used it.

I’m able to do delves pretty easily on my priest, but I don’t do much other than heal, and it’s kinda boring.

On my druid, I do a ton of damage and rampage through delves swiftly.

You think so? I think they’re significantly easier. I’m chewing through 11s with nary a thought. For something that rewards gilded crests and a decent shot at Heroic gear that seems a bit off the mark to me. Certainly it’s easier than a Heroic raid fight.

11s now feel as difficult to me as 8s in my end-season gear did and I’m nowhere close to my end-season gear yet.

Yup. The fun part is figuring out the best mob to control.

If you try it, make a focus macro for dominate mind, so you can easily reapply to your focus target.

Tiers 9 to 11 are a lot easier, of course that is on purpose. The philosophy of what those tiers are for changed from S1 to S2 and difficulty was adjusted appropriately. Overall I think delves are fine.

They could still do some work to balance tank Brann out better to make a healer/tank Brann combo as good as the others.

Either one of two things might happen. Things will stay the way they are and this will be the future of delves going forward or they’ll make “adjustments” down the road. We’ll only know in the seasons to come.

The combo is good as the others, but coming from someone who doesn’t have a Tier 8 done this season whereas it shows you had one done last season going of your feats, it’s 100% safe to say you’re trolling at this point.

Knock it off.

I do them as prot pally, so nothing is difficult, but I still think they’re fun. 11’s are definitely easier, but that was their intention, I believe.

Yeah it’s pretty clear delves are a cakewalk as any tank. I just can’t bring myself to play prot paladin though. I find it slow and boring. Ret for life!

Templar prot is fun, I think. Big ole hammer of light crits are fun to see.

I think perception of difficulty is going to depend on how much the player has leveled Brann. Someone with a level 15 Brann will find them more difficult than someone with a level 55 Brann.

It’s more than that.

I had Brann at level 52 at the end of Season 1. He’s now level 62. Those ten levels have had a marked increase in his survivability at T10 and T11 beyond what my gear going from 618 to 636 has done.

I found it weird that I could do the new delves at t8 16 or so item levels under the suggested, on a Rogue. Then I tried the old ones and got owned. I went back after getting some gear and got them done, and I was still like 12 levels under. I do 8s on a Rogue all the time now. I still can’t do 11s on a Rogue at 648 or so, but I can do them on a BM Monk. I guess it depends on what you’re playing. Right now, I feel like I’m never going to have the gear to do 11s on my Rogue. I don’t think Heroic gear will be enough, and heroic gear rarely drops in delves anyway. And it’ll be hard to upgrade with the guilded cap. And most delve gear sucks too.

What are you struggling with? I do T11s on my Rogue, Outlaw Spec.

Not even close.

I was doing them primarily on my Demo Warlock in S1 so haven’t noticed much difference really in S2 on that character.

Can’t really compare it to S2 mostly because the other character I’ve done them on in S2 has been my Resto Druid and Resto Shaman because Tank Brann became a thing that actually allowed healers to delve solo. Considering I didn’t do them at all on those characters in S1 no basis of comparison.

Though I can compare current tank Brann to tank Brann before Blizz decided to invalidate it as an option with the gutting nerfs. As result I just pug delves on my healers with a tank. The only hard thing has been the annoying random game freezes that started happening with 11.1 that always happen at exactly the moment you need to move out of a 1-shot. But if I don’t get game freezes Delves have been mostly smooth on my healers in a group. Not too hard but not fall asleep at keyboard easy.

As a healer, delves take longer with a tank than they do if you bring a DPS. Brann makes for a good meat shield and with the way mobs scale with more people in the group, a DPS is the quicker route to go.

Edit

Week two not withstanding. Brann is fine now.

You just 3-man them with a tank a dps and set bran as dps. Way faster than solo even before the Tank Brann nerf.

Just take a second dps then. The damage output is far higher on hp sponges that don’t require an actual tank to use cooldowns to survive through.

I’d like harder delves in exchange for better gear, but I don’t see that happening at this stage. So, with that in mind, I think delves are good for their intended purpose. They’re as easy or as hard as you make them, although that hyena boss can go take a long walk off a short pier.

delves are easy and its fine, if it bothers you then dont use it as a stepping stone or gearing option and utilize one of the other options. complaining about gearing avenues when gear already has no worth or meaning is just silly. just play the game, or dont.
