So, I got one of those crystal things that summon the dude, and I did hurt him and made him bail, but it didn’t award me the hidden trove at the end.
It seems those unlock at 2nd level in the journey, so… Don’t be me and use it before then.
Blizzard is buffing journey progress, which makes me wonder:
Can another crystal drop for the map? Or is it limited to one per week? I know the map is once per week, but what about the crystal to get the trove at the end?
AFAIK they are just low chance random drops (I found one and only one) and can also be bought for 2K undercoins.
And yes, no matter how many you find or buy, once the map is unlocked, it’s once per week to drop.

Fortunately I’ve gotten three more of the quartzes since, so that’s cool.
Just do bountifuls even if you don’t have a coffer key. Do them on your best alt too. Shouldn’t take too long to get to level 2.
I’ve done 7 or 8 bountiful, I believe, and haven’t seen another crystal drop. Just rng I guess. But, I am glad they can still drop!

I just wish the game would hint in some way that these abilities kill you in one hit.
Had Kyveza appear and one of her beams 1 shot me from full HP. Can I like get a better telegraph or something? Why do I have to get literally trolled by abilities that 1 shot you? So annoying and cringey.

I actually reached level 2 of the Delver’s Journey on Sunday but have already done 10 Bountiful Delves this week on the character. That was all I had keys for. I will use my Delver’s Map after reset.
Just to be clear, by “hidden trove at the end”, we’re talking about the canister she drops where she was standing when she leaves, right?

I did get two crystals on the character I used to push the delves up (to 11).

Okay. Well, this helps alleviate my concern a little that it can drop again. You didn’t by chance USE one of them before hitting rank 2, did you? I did, and I think it may be thinking I’ve gotten my Hidden Trove for the week, when I haven’t.
I had 3 on my main… I think they might drop pretty often from the nemesis chest if you max it

You can probably buy them from the Murloc for 500 undercoins. Could last season.

Shrieking Quartz are semi-rare but you can get more than one. I’ve gotten 2 in the same delve but that’s uncommon. Even going out of my way for treasures it’s probably a 1-in-8 chance per delve on average (anecdotal).
After you hit the 2nd node in the Delver’s Journey defeating the miniboss the quartz summons can get you a Delver’s Bounty Map–but you have to loot the cannister the miniboss leaves behind where you beat them.
Those maps are limited–you can only get one a week per character. Using that map creates an extra treasure at the end of a delve. If the delve is tier 8 or higher it will reward a hero track item which is ilvl 694.
You can save the map, having one in your inventory won’t stop you from getting another next week. But you can only carry one, so if another drops you’ll have to use the one you have before you can pick up the new one.
Using the map adds a buff that stays with you until you complete a delve and trigger a reward.
PS: Getting a map from the end of a bountiful delve doesn’t seem as rare as last season, almost all my alts got one from their first delve and the others on the second. I don’t think any took as long as their third.
But you can throw them in your warband bank for any alts who might need them later.
For the quartz they aren’t too expensive to buy. Before the flickergate nerf I think I got around 10 but that’s not a great option anymore. Ideally loot all those curious if you need one, I usually can snag 1 or 2 from there.
