I really hope Blizz doesn’t continue this nonsense in S3. It seemed potentially “useful” early on in the season to have trinkets out of the vault from doing delves, to help “get” trinkets. Of course they also drop so much from the delves themselves that you get plenty over the course of the season. But what sucks is that you ALSO keep getting plenty from the vault, and what ends up happening is you get no OTHER hero items from the vault for delves. In essence it becomes a gear nerf, as it’s so difficult for the solo player to get hero items other ways.
Stop with the trinket (or cloak, or ring) spam in the delves, Blizz, do better. Allow for actual real gearing opportunities. I bet on just this one character (my monk main currently) I’ve probably gotten over a hundred hero tier trinkets from delves and delve vaults this season alone. To be fair, on this character I’m at hero+ for all slots, but it’s still just wasteful. At least with a different slot I might get a ‘boosted secondary stat’ item or something. And yeah, that’s possible with trinkets, but boy it never happens.

Yeah, I do quite a few delves as they are my personal favorite content to run. All I’ve ever gotten are trinkets & rings.
I agree entirely. Trinkets used to be some of the last pieces I replaced. Now, I’m flooded with them.
I don’t know the best solution, but I’d like for something to change.
They could start by removing the absolute crap trinkets that nobody uses from the pool of eligible loot.

I seem to get those the most, too. It’s like the joke prizes at carnivals. Which is basically insulting, because it feels like they are treating delves like carnival-game-row with those rewards.

The season hasn’t been out for 50 weeks.
The problem isn’t trinkets - the problem is a loot table bloated with way too many trinkets, many of them total garbage.

You see where I said delves and delve vaults? What part of the math then is giving you trouble? We are like what, week 19? How many delves you think get run in that time frame?
You’re only getting 2 hero trinkets per week per character max.
Garbomancer, Amorphous Relic, Ratfang Toxin, to name a few.
How does crap like that even get approved?

Team Lead: “Management says we need more filler loot - let’s be different this season and make a bunch of filler trinkets, any ideas?”
Developer One: “How about a trinket with less main stat half the time than similar trinkets all of the time, along with a goofy useless character size effect.”
Team Lead: “Great idea - keep 'em coming!”

Well, to be fair, yes, 100 is a slight exaggeration, but there’s actually 4 items per week (3 vault + 1 map). and I’m probably blurring the champion level ones into that mix. And I run like 10 characters through delves on a regular basis, so overall the count is ridiculous. I know on the monk that I had 2 of 3 in my vault and 1 for my map, so 3 just for the day that I posted this.
My demo lock feeling the lack of decent Hero drops/vault the hardest. A zillion weeks in and still has six champ gear slots, while doing wave scrambler plus hero vault slot almost every week. Gets only trinks or rings. It’s a bummer.
Yesterday I got 4 weapons from my 2 delves all champ gear nicely itemized but I already have a hero weapon 
, The vault gave 2 tier pieces of hero level as well .
