Delve trick

So, for those who hate delves or love them with the moving mechanic, I may have found an interesting way to complete them without the headache of even dealing with the moving mechanic itself.

Whats the moving mechanic? Its where you are carrying an item that keeps you safe such as the candle or air purifier totem for example, and if you move, the diameter of the safe zone shrinks around you until you find another to replenish it.

Well, this trick, for those who dont know about it, will make the delve take longer but you’ll never have to worry about the mechanic, as long as you can kill pretty quickly.

Now, I have tested this with a mage. I’m not sure how the other classes do.

With mage, we have blink. If you use it, the diameter of the safe zone never goes down.

Not sure if this would work with the warrior’s heroic jump or any other class movement skill that you click, to move your character, WITHOUT pushing your movement WASD keys.

If others have found this out then great, if not then I hope this helps, atleast with mage it works.

Just make sure you have the blink cooldown specc’d so its less than the base cooldown.

I have tested it with the candle delve and poison gas delve and yes, it works with mage blink skill. Safe zone never degrades.

Let me know if anyone else has tried the other classes? I am sure some people dont have trouble with delves and I dont either but at higher tiers, the safe zone degrades faster with movement atleast from what I experienced.

Just figured this would help for those who may hate that mechanic.

Now if only there was a trick to deal with spinning flames that kill you when they aren’t pointed at you

yeah stealth classes get it done fast. Guess yall dont have to worry about the movement mechanic.

I suppose as a mage i could just invis the whole way but the cooldown is quite long lol does the moving mechanic still work with stealth?

Never had an issue clearing a room before the candle runs out :dracthyr_shrug:

I’m afk most of the time in Delves, wax all over the floor, follower screaming at me to get going, it’s a mess.

Still have fun though.

Also if your candle or totem is about to run out and you enter a new room that has a replacement, don’t grab it immediately. Let your current one run out, and then you can use the new one as a “base” to pull mobs and such back to, so that you’re not burning down more steps.

You must not be picking up everything up. Because if you were, you’d know that fighting Brann to get out of the way so you can click costs 100% more candle

Incoming nerf in 3…2…1…

It works with Heroic Leap on warriors too, can confirm.

Ah so it does work with heroic leap. Not bad. Confirms its based off the movement keys only. Im sure it will be patched out then. If not then, its an easy work around for the mechanic at higher tiers.

Only problem will be mob difficulty while not moving.

Pretty sure it works with HM Tauren racial charge too.

Then thats a decent exploit whether intentional or not.

Warlock Gate
Demonic Circle
as well Goblin Rocket Jump (and the occasional Engineering Rocket Boost Backfire + Rocket Jump) to reach different areas been fun as fel and saves on unnecessary steps while Fel Guard / Blue Berry and Brann fight each other for who gets to poke the mobs the hardest.

Sounds like warlock has a nice sit back and auto delve if youre demo or any spec probably. lol Ill have to remember that.

You can drop the item and it still works. Now run around that perimeter area all you want and it doesn’t lose power. Pick it up and then move to next area/mobs.

Ohh, really? That’s good to know.

Did not know that! Makes it easier actually. Does it reset? Or does it stay forever until picked up?

A good test would be to see if WW Monk Torpedo and FDK (Flying Dragon Kick) chew up through the “per” step lol.

Their Chi teleport would probably be the same as Lock’s Demonic Circle and doesn’t eat up steps.
