Starting delves on my shaman-alt, wasn’t sure if ele/enhance is better and any tips people use to get through. Feels rough as enhance but my shaman is undergeared
Enhancement is the only spec! LOL
Shaman defense is mostly heals (also death, apparently), so you have to blow a few MW procs on heals. Luckily, they are pretty huge. Once you learn the pulls, you can start using your few CDs more efficiently.
Elemental is fine. I’m half asleep running tier 8s for the 616 weekly chests. Infact ele is more powerful than many specs
Use cap totem often. Keep at range. If they get on you spirit walkers.
Last boss is cake with earth elemental

I’m pretty happy with elemental in delves and even high level delves.
I would recommend boning up on kiting and control skills. A ranged kite is much more feasible than a melee kite. There are plenty of times where agro gets weird and the Storm/Fire Elemental will catch loose agro.
There are also plenty of universal strengths for shaman. Breaking up a group of 3 mobs into a group of 2 mobs with a Hex will keeping trouble in hand. If you really need more than two hands, Earth Elemental is pretty hearty.
Bran underwent significant changes. Having a healing friend is much more reasonable in higher level delves than it used to be where the only option was to power through enemies. It’s still spooky to see yourself getting chunked in thirds, but a potion for 1.5 mil is good and nearby if you’re calm.
Yeah. Feels like I spend most of my time spamming healing surge as enhance. But the delves are definitely doable, will probably try some as elemental next week. Just seems easier if you can kite stuff, since most of the problem comes from mob auto attacks and not mechanics.
Done it as both Ele and Enh. I think Enh is a little harder when lacking gear for a few reasons. First is being that you just take more melee attacks. Second is enh earth elemental is pretty bad compared to elementals beefed up one. Plus elemental right now has CDR on elementals so you get it back quicker. Enh can heal better though and kills quicker due to less ramp time, so play what you like.
Never once used hex, just wasn’t necessary, and minimal kiting. Earth elemental on sketchy packs, single pull hard mobs when possible. Let brann take aggro on multi target packs if you know you can’t tank them. Collect Brann potions before they expire to keep the hot stacks rolling.
Its always gonna feel rough. My enhance is 600 ilvl and i do 8s. On bountiful 8s u really gotta pay attention to ur health cause it will drop fast even after u just used a healing surge.
In my opinion strong heals dont matter if ur so squishy u have to use multiple surges in a row in some cases.
Elemental is good too with earth elemental and lots of stuns and cc. But u have to play it well to pull it off.
I stopped playing my shaman in delves since the difference between enhance and ret is night snd day.
Ret is vastly easier and lower stress in delves than elemental as well. I breeze through 8’s as ret that take twice as long with ele and are way more stressful. Paladin has less gear than the shaman.
I only did Enh and it’s not that bad. When i was undergeared i managed to do rank 7. But within 2 weeks i was geared enough for rank 8 without problem. If things go out of control you pop earth elemental. If you manage to down boss to like 50%, pop earth elemental and all your CDs
