DELVE rewards and weekly rewards are broken

So I got a brand new level 80 hunter up and did my first level 8 delve and got a pair of 603 pants and the bonus for an upgrade reward for the next delve.

I had such high hopes, I’m going to get 2 upgrades for the price of one. I can take anything for a reward!. I get another pair of 603 pants with the SAME name and a pair of 610 hero pants with the SAME name.

That’s only an example, one time I did 8 delves 5 of which are bountiful and I get 2 guns and 2 crossbows and a pair of ( you got it ) pants. All of which I don’t need.

Weekly reward can be just as sorry, you get 2 trinkets and a pair of pants. it doesn’t matter that I have over 5 items sub 603 gear on.

My main characters which I started with have a more even setup of rewards, the newer guys all have gear with an upper limit of 606 but I keep getting stuff I already have. I thought I was just unlucky at first but there is just no way I’m this unlucky.

There is not point to doing a delve anymore, I’m sick of them. If they aren’t going to give me an upgrade I might as well do 8 level 3’s, or find a game with better rewards.

The rewards from 5 time walker dungeons isn’t any different, always something I don’t need.

Welcome to a small loot table. Wait until your Vault is nothing but trinkets.

There are other ways to get gear… but you do you.

delves have a gear cap for world players like all end game content with an intended audience

the cap being 616 or 606 depending on where player wants to finish at

then u can do other stuff for even better reward. if u want.

Delves don’t have a great loot table, you are going to get a lot of repeated items, especially when you start only needing a few slots left.

It’s WoW. All of the gear will be meaningless in a few months anyway so don’t stress about it. I promise you the game is a lot more fun when you stop caring about it.

RNG bro

I got the same terrible trinket 4 times in a row, three of them at 603 and one at 610. Then delve loot dried up for the week so I logged.

Sad times.

Pretty much this. My endgame revolves around clearing normal raid lol. Chasing gear is such a time waster

This affects all parts of the game.

RNG is RNG. Blizzard is never going to guarantee you are not going to get duplicate items or sidegrades for the same slot over weaker slots you need upgrades for. If they were going to do that, they’d have done it by now.

You get what you can.
Then you get a choice in the Vault to mitigate the issue.

Then you get some Crafted Gear to fill slots you’re having particularly bad luck on.

Also probably weapons in a lot of cases just because they’re so important and it’s generally easier to get higher ilvl weapons from Crafting vs Drops right now.

Yeah, the Diablo-fication of Retail WoW is one of my pet peeves. Very much goes for delves, down to their Butcher-like Zekvir invasions. Random loot works in Diablo games when they get the system right, but it doesn’t work for me in WoW.

I prefer the more old school system where you had bosses that dropped a handful items, you farmed them if you needed that slot and you had crafting and a backup currency as bad luck protection. Running dozens of delves + vault lottery isn’t quite the same.

yea, I was just musing this, having to suffer through the 5 delve weekly.

I finally went and did a Tier 9, just cuz, and then looked at Tier 10.

It said that Tier 10 was suggested for toons Ilevel 623 and above.

“Well that’s interesting, how is an open world delve player supposed to get to 623?”

With the trickle of Runed crests to possibly use for higher level crafted gear, and the vault tapped out at 616. Even with the Siren ring, you’re not hitting 623.

And…AND! Then there’s Tier 11…

Good times!

Or cloaks! Gotta love the variety in cloaks :grinning:

SOLOMON GRUNDY WANT PANTS TOO!!!

I mean, are you really surprised that expansion after expansion and patch after patch it’s nothing but a loot treadmill that you climb onto and you can’t get off of? I mean, sure you get some free loot in the vault every week after you go do a bunch of other treadmill stuff and it’s usually a fistful of trinkets. I might suggest going and taking a look at all of the loot tables in the game before throwing yourself on the treadmill again and figuring out where your next upgrade is actually coming from.

Stats on WoW loot from delves isn’t random though. There are a set of items with fixed stats that scale with iLv.

Yeah, but that’s cold comfort if I can’t get the piece I need in the first place.

My main badly needed a weapon. It was either craft one or run bountiful delves and hope. And hope some more for the vault. I’d much rather take a look at loot tables and go “So for two-handers, it’s Fungal Folly, Waterworks, or the Pit. Got it.”

As a funny side note, there are now some items in D4 with fixed stats and ways to target them. It’s something that was constantly requested, because having zero control over drops isn’t fun, even in an action RPG. D4 team listened, while WoW seems to be slowly heading in the opposite direction.

Don’t forget about trading up crests. Once you break that threshold and can start trading for Runed it’s not so hard to get past 619. All of my gear is from delves.

My rogue is currently 627 from Delves alone, it’s definitely possible.

Isn’t that a boatload of crests? What is it, 6:1? 90 Guilded for 15 Runed?

Utilize crafting or have someone craft something for you to fill other slots
