Yeah that’s why I don’t understand people flagging it, I notice that when its not locked people don’t start very many new ones. They complain about High Elf thread spam but they don’t help with flagging that one.
The reason it gets unlocked is because it’s on a timed automatic system. You can’t claim that the mods don’t think it’s spam. They may just be choosing to overlook it for personal reasons. But according to the forum posting guidelines, it is.
So you are claiming the mods think it’s spam but are overlooking it instead of deleting it? Even though when the last one was being perma locked they told us to make a new one?
And avoiding thread locks are against the rules, so don’t be surprised when it’s deleted.
As for flagging, if the community feels something is spam (because it is), they are justified in doing it. This is why you’ve not heard a single story of any of them getting banned for flagging anything related to it.
Yep that is why Blizz hasn’t deleted it yet. They are ok with it.
Blizz has no problems with deleting threads, most of the Classic ones from this weekend that were posted in GD have been deleted. If they had a problem with it it would have been deleted a long time ago.
We don’t decide what spam is. Blizzard does. Blizzard removes Spam threads. You can’t claim “working as intended” for the things you agree with while ignoring the fact that the inverse is true as well.
I assume he means posting a new thread after the old one has been locked or deleted… since there is no such thing as “avoiding a thread lock”. That said, that is bastardizing the meaning and intent of that rule and Blizzard told people to make a new thread when the old ones got autolocked by serial reporters.
Well yeah I agree with you on that. But like I said Blizz is clearly ok with the High Elf thread or they would have deleted it by now with as many times as it has been autolocked and flagged.
I assume you are correct, but I am willing to let the person who made the claim explain.
If a mod locks a thread and I make a new thread then yes, thats against the forum CoC/guidelines.
If flags from players are causing thread locks thats an entirely different story, especially when Blizz has been flexible about letting new threads be created because of said flags in the past.
And if those flags and thread locks occur frequently, which has been the case with the High Elf threads, maybe the mods should take another look at the situation. If something generates that much displeasure from the forum community it shouldn’t be allowed to continue indefinitely. Just put a cap on the current thread and let it end at that.
One person can flag it on all his toons so we don’t know how many people are actually flagging it. Also supposedly there is or was a bot going around liking and flagging post so we don’t know how many actually flagged it. A couple of Classic post had 30 likes in a couple of minutes this weekend.
And then another one will pop up.
One thing you seem to be against High Elf, so sorry having to disagree with you on these post lol. We have enough elfs lol
