Deleting a toon that got a mog?

I’m pretty sure that if I delete a character that got a transmog look, I’ll keep the look, right?

But if I delete it too soon after getting the look, might it not be saved?

How long should I wait to be safe?

EDIT: This might be just a rumor I heard. Sorry if so.

You would need to ensure that any refund or trade timers are gone from the gear first. Easiest way to do that is to equip said gear upon receiving it.

Then you might wish to test if the appearance was entered into your collection for similar armor types and / or classes to use before deleting the character.

Transmogging to said appearance on another character is another way to ensure that it’s been collected.

If you can’t access it on an alt, you don’t have it in your collection yet. But if it’s in the collection tab on a different character, you’re all set to delete the alt that obtained it in the first place.
