The playerbase has changed and the metas changed. You’re not going to get that retail TBC feeling again.
Make the best of what you have now and the best way to do that is just finding players that play the game like you do.
The lag will settle as the players drop off from the hype trains.
The mail and AH are def throttled, it’s probably best for everyone for this change right now.
This TBC being shorter is by design for two reasons. 1 is boosts and two is classic + timeline.
Why would you want to wait several months to start raiding? That’s an Ishyou.
You say you don’t have time to raid in a serious guild because of work, then you say you want prenerf harder content? Pick one man, both of those don’t go together. As a casual you’re not going to be in a guild that will even kill prenerf Vashj rofl.

if blizzard made TBC:AN 18 months with pre-nerf content and capped people to doing 1 dungeon per day there’d be more players on classic than retail and they know it.
They’ve been throttling and gimping classic from day 1 because it’s pretty obvious it’s more popular than retail has been for a long time

Financially that would be a terrible decision to purposely try and get a lower player count in any form of the game. Not sure I agree with this? Maybe if they are doing a long term hype buildup or marketing push for classic plus?

Some of these dudes are od’ing on copium from pre nerf heroics are back. Its the way it was! this will get retailers in the millions back!
I’d need to see retail char postings with established M20+ and KSM, KSH, AOTC and such to say yes…this is the challenge I wanted M20+ cannot give me. retail is dead to me now!
and I’d need it back to SL. I’d need to see that they know how “fun” necrotic weeks were.

How much dev time goes into remaking a game from 20 years ago? Not a lot. And blizzard adds their own dev time by changing things and adding things nobody wanted messed with like adding edit mode to TBC for no reason.
I play retail and I play classic, classic is 100% more popular. There’s a reason they had to make everything in retail cross server and there’s a reason classic had a 5+ hour queue to play in 2019.
Blizzard has done nothing but throttle classic’s success from the start with dumb ideas like the fake lag in 2019 classic, only giving 3 anniv servers, refusing to give era for TBC and WOTLK, raising server populations way higher than the game was designed for and then trying to bandaid the problem they created with layering, and all sorts of other changes.
If they came out with WOTLK era and TBC era it would be over for retail and they know it.
