There is alot of doomsaying in these replies but the fact that you’re new to the guild probably has more to do with it than the people screaming corrupt LC.
When i joined my current guild i was a trial for a few weeks on the reasoning they didn’t want to give loot to someone who was just going to bounce. In your case Stormrune edge is still a pretty solid hunter weapon even if its a stat stick, and any of the pieces you were after were likely still upgrades for whoever got them
if they were disenchanting gear no one but you wanted then it’d be another case entirely, but its probably worth sticking it out a couple more weeks to see
Hate to tell you, but it’s going to keep happening. ICC and ToC are filled with stat sticks for hunters that might be their BiS so buckle up. Plus, nothing is owed to you. Your “New” to this guild why would they invest in you over their guildie that has prob put in the time?
I’ve been in on a LC and in a few LC guilds. If you’re new you’re usually last on the loot table, especially after weeks of an expansion had dropped. “Why should we give a player something who hasn’t been with the team putting in the effort if someone has been?”, is often the concept to be fair to those who are vetted in already. Especially if the new person doesn’t play well or has poor attendance. It’s not always about the class you simply show up and play with.
If I were you I would check your logs to see how well you’re doing and ask about your performance. How can anyone on this forum even have an opinion unless they know how well you played, if you know the fights and mechanics, if you showed up on time, consumed and ready to go with proper enchants and gems, if you’ve been helpful to anyone in the guild or contributed to the bank, etc etc. It’s never just about your class.
If they gave Str 2hander to a hunter, then yes I would agree with you, OP.
But we are talking about Agi 2hander, you are new to the guild, and warrior in the present state… not so sure if I would agree with you.
Maybe this hunter has been waiting for an upgrade long enough already.
There are people you recruit and rather quickly realize they are probably not great. They die often, don’t listen to raid calls, don’t really seem to know what to be doing, etc. You quickly wonder how long they will last. If we recruit a bumbling player who I’m not impressed with I won’t be inclined to do the “right” thing and give him the weapon just because he’s melee because in the back of my head I don’t even know if he’s worth it.
Then there are others that you are impressed with from the get go. They seem to know mechanics, adapt quickly, maybe even socialize well with the guild, etc. These people get promoted quicker, and while rules may not be broken for them when you have an LC that is trying to decide how to handle loot that person is seen in a better light.
Strict LC like I’ve seen in Retail doesn’t seem to be all that popular in Classic anyways, a lot of guilds use TMB and let that mostly govern who is getting what first because that puts a lot of power in the hands of the players. Some guilds will put you on some sort of trial basis where you are lower prio for some or all the loot, which is what my guild did and after two weeks I’m a raider and have the same prio as everyone else.
No. You dont give a weapon thats good for a core raider to a trial thats likely to leave anyhow. Especially when the stat stick is an upgrade for the core raider. No wonder all of you say LC is corrupt. You guys dont understand how it works.
That weapon is really good for hunters actually. I side with the LC on this one, especially if the hunter is a core raider, and you are new.
Wait a minute, i just got that sword on my hunter… what is your server?
You agreed to the loot system. It didn’t turn out the way you liked. As you said later in your thread you will leave the guild.
I suspect you will find that loot issues follow you from guild to guild, no matter what loot system that is used.
You just joined the guild. You shouldn’t expect to walk in and start instantly getting gear over established players, particularly as a Fury with mediocre gear that is getting carried through the instance
so your raid is split between your core friend and the “new” people that you use to get gear for your actual friends. As the "new " people go weeks or months with nothing they will leave and you will get new suckers to self justify giving nothing to. Great teamwork there.
That’s WAY better for a hunter than a warrior. Do you guys even know what the stats are on this thing? Especially if he’s more of a veteran to the guild he 100% deserves that drop. Ulduar 10 has better options for fury than it too.
