It will probably release around the 20th anniversary, which is surely going to be a big deal.
I suspect a rework of the old world, maybe an invasion from AU Drainer with Yrel as the BBEG.

I wish we could have an expansion that was more about small stories, little adventures, I think we need a break after all this world saving.
Perhaps bring in a bigbad later in the expansion.
As others have said Yrel will play a big part but they have it wrong. We will see that she is not a villain but the savior of all mortal races. She will unite us against the Void Lord Elune and save us from certain eternal doom.
Blessed is Yrel and all that follow and love her.

Microsoft will merge WoW and TES. That is why they added Lizard people. Now we just need cat people.

I’m convinced that when Azeroth wakes up, she takes the sword and either uses it as her main hand weapon or tosses it to a random planet and kills everyone, thereby starting her maniacal reign of terror.
I’m hoping for the latter.

The sword in Silithus is a permanent addition to that timeline layer. It’s a nice looking asset, it’s also Magni and MOTHER’s house with several expansion features inside, so I don’t know what they would really “do” with it. It’s just part of the game world.
