When will be able to restore deleted characters? I don’t understand why this issue has flummoxed the developers for so long.
IIRC it was disabled to make sure there are no issues with the launch of Warbands. They’re probably waiting until some time post-(TWW) launch to enable it again so the big rush of players get their first-time setup thing triggered before they have to start messing with restored characters.
FWIW they announced it was going to be disabled on the website/launcher and disabled the cooldown on restoring characters prior to it being disabled. They probably could have added a prominent warning when trying to delete a character during that period, but overall I think they handled it okay.

Im getting mixed answers but from what i can tell you may not be able to for a few months unfortunately due to how warbands work.
Youre better off releveling what you lost.

It’s not a priority. 
They said it will be available at a “Later time”.
They were all level 70 characters, so that may not be a viable option for someone with limited time. Oh, well…

I mean, prepatch is by far the fastest you could possibly level (without buying boosts or paying players to power level you with DF Elites). You could probably bang a 70 out in a day or two without a ton of trouble. (multiple 70s if you eat the day away on it)
And if you really need them at launch you might as well just start on it. Get leveled what you can and get the rest back when they turn the thing back on.
Or if you still have what you intend to main, just wait and see I guess.
A good reason to not delete any you might want to play… aside from the wrong character being deleted bug.
They preemptively shut it down. I don’t think they’re “flummoxed.” I think they’re just not ready with the system until after Remix is gone and the expansion begins. Get everything stable first.

They’re coming back, we just don’t have an exact date yet.
Don’t delete your chars, unless you intend for them to be gone for some time.
