Ive never played anything other shaman so my vote is biased
I’ve been contemplating doing this. Keeping my main MW and one ranged DPS for other stuff, would either be my hunter or my warlock. Can’t decide. I really don’t need the rest.
Good riddance.
Don’t listen to anyone who tells you to not move forward. I understand your obsessive nature and I can assure you the cold turkey method works wonders.
The only thing is take make sure you’re 900% sure. Once you do you might as well accept those characters no longer exist (Even though you can recover them). I’ve done it myself with something else and it saved me from more time/money lost and gained me back my sanity.
Obsession is nothing to toy with. Make it small, make it manageable. Or get rid of it altogether.
Isn’t that the point of the game? For each class to have their strengths and weaknesses. If there’s a class without weakness, it’d make the remaining options unnecessary.
i want wow to take the ffxiv approach. all for 1. i hate alts and taking care of several characters, most of the time i hard pick one and stick with it, at most i do 2 mains and maybe a side one but i really, really hate alts lol.
but i will say w/ warbands and stuff it might help…just keeps your characters u might wanna play em again lol
This isn’t entirely wrong. I have a touch of OCD, I can’t have characters on my screen that I don’t play anymore. I need order, purpose and reason to most everything. It drives me crazy and then I can’t get past the character select screen. The other part of it is time. I just don’t have as much as before to play, so I don’t see the point in keeping them all. They just sit there, never being leveled, never doing anything.
When I transferred servers I brought my 3 most played. My MW, my HPriest, and my warlock. I then made a new shaman and hunter. But now I’m having the same issue. I haven’t played any of them except my MW. So it’s probably time to purge.
you will regret doing this
This is exactly what I’ve come to be as well, well stated.
WoW is by design an Alt’centric game these days. If you run one character you ARE at a disadvantage unfortunately… TMOG farming is about to get a boost with Alt farming, the New Expansion is doubling down on Alt armies with new features.
If you want to play a single T00n then Monk is the way since you don’t want to roll Druid… W/ Monk you can play all roles and they are fun to heal with… That said I truly think you will end up restoring your characters once deleted unless you possess a level of self control beyond mere mortals.
I’d never delete my characters, and I’m always able to focus on one.
Thing is, if I focus on just one, I run out of content in game in a few weeks.
I can’t also focus on all of them, so I just pick a “main alt” per expac and roll with it.
If there’s some time left, I reorder the rest according to some criteria (usually, how fun it is to use them on combat) to keep some progression on some of them, as keeping all chars up to date as of now is literally impossible, even if I could play 24/7, since I don’t focus on the most optimal gearing paths.
I’ve noticed recently that my preferred classes are those with a knockback lol.
It’s so damn fun one-shooting unsuspecting people in BGs, especially on a WW monk.
Nobody expects the Mighty Ox Kick.
I know you said you didnt want druid for transmog reasons but it really is the best choice as its the only one that can play all rolls. That being said I too deleted a bunch of characters and went from around 50 down to currently one of each class with a couple extras,so like 15? Just don’t want to keep up with so many anymore and after I do the class hall stuff for each class even more will be getting sidelined never to be played again unless they do another legion class hall style system.
Druid. You got tank, heal, melee dps, and ranged dps.
Didn’t ask.
Good luck with that. I have 4 main characters I enjoy playing any time Im on them. And every now and then a 5th and even 6th sneak in.
I cannot wait for warbands so everything is account wide and I can just level them all up and play whichever im feeling at the moment
