And what exactly do you want an expansion of WoW to be, a flight simulator? Every expansion has been “more of the same” since TBC.

Got a problem with them playing it safe and plus they are overhauling the entire game in terms of how things will work going forward.

You can take a break from retail WoW and go play something else if it’s all starting to feel-samey to you. If you don’t like world events, don’t do them.

And does anyone at this point REALLY care about the lore if they want their purple loot, parses, achievements and mounts from raid/dungeon?

I’m pretty bored of S4 in DF myself, but that’s because I’ve done everything in the season I want to do.

I’m happy playing Diablo 4 and World of Tanks until TWW comes out. Maybe you need a break from the game as well?

I haven’t seen a single retcon in The War Within. Filling in unexplored details isn’t retconning; it’s world building. There are tens of thousands of years of unexplored history on Azeroth. Even the recent history prior to the opening of the Dark Portal has tons of gaps. Open Chronicle; until you get to Warcraft 1, the individual stories are frequently hundreds or thousands of years apart.

If I’m going to be playing the same trash over and over I would rather do it in LK where it was fun and not in retail where it’s just an action game with timers and flashy boss fights that require 1000 add ons.
