404 this. This is stupid and every troll who posted on it is needs to get a life.

I’m not sure I follow you entirely

People should play the same game when stuff launches or something?

I’d say Not… because one clearly has more experience and an advantage in the raids and dungeons than the other… so is it a level playing field… no… It would be like a PVP player taking on a PVE player… and we know who would win.

A month from now Person 1 will know plenty about addons because they’ll have been recommended by friends and guildmates.

I mean classes, raids, quests, talents, everything needs to be designed so that a good player who doesn’t use addons can achieve the same things as someone who does.

Spells and rotations should be obvious enough to be learned completely in game. Talents should be worded in a way that you don’t need a maths degree to tell which one is better.

The default UI should give you all the information you need.

And I don’t mean getting hard carried. Lots of no-addon-zealots today get carried to AotC and call it doable, I mean everybody. A raid full of 20 people who don’t use addons should be able to get CE, 3 people who don’t use addons should be able to get glad. 5 people who don’t use addons should be able to get m+ title.

Oh ok, so someone like me then

Majority of addons I use are for transmog and customization stuff, 0 weakauras at all

You can look up my raid logs if you wanna say I’m carried or something, cuz its already very doable to play the game without addons

Okay :white_check_mark: done

What’s your next request?

Addons just make things easier, I don’t get it

It’s fine for both players to have different expectations. There should be variety of things to do because not everyone enjoys the same content.

There’s all sorts of addons and weakauras in the game. Not just for raid or dungeons.

Name one. Name one raid team that has ever gotten CE without addons.

Like herd immunity, you may not, but your raid leader is, everyone around you is.

Brass tax, wow classes need to be majorly simplified and the UI overhaul needs to be expanded.

How do you know I’m not the raid leader?

Because it’s not possible.

I can’t even name one raid team lmao

But why would anyone choose not to use addons? They’re a convenience for anyone who plays the game often, and anyone raiding at a high level is going to play the game often.

You’re implying that they’re some kind of cheat code, which is stupid.

Oh this is a Asmon parrot, isn’t it?

How so?‎ ‎ ‎

This was a really long winded way to say that you want to remove add-ons from the game.

No, not at all. They surface required information not available through the base UI. They’re not some cheat code/aim bot.

Oh Jesus Christ. Can anyone have a thread that doesn’t mention that idiot? It’s the wow version of Godwin.

It’s an ongoing project as they decide what they want to do next.

I mean, you’re repeating his “wow is overcomplicated” talking point that people have been regurgitating onto the forum recently, so I made assumptions.

why do they need to have similar experiences and expectations? that is just totally unreasonable since mythic raiders have stated it normally takes 6 months for a new player to be ready to mythic raid and that was years ago - now it would probably take longer not a shorter time.

A new player has so much game to experience other than mythic raiding.

I’ve been saying this for years. This morning, I was helping my daughter out, and I was explaining some basic “how to” stuff, and I realized at one point I had spoken for over 10 minute straight about things you need to do before you ever pull a boss.

WoW has been incrementally getting more complicated to placate a certain class of player, and it’s hurting everyone. Just projectionally, I think a lot of dev time should be spent making the game playable at all levels right out of the box. Not because “addons are bad”, but because they’re a symptom of a deeper problem.
