in the leveling bracket 71-79 docks is the winning strategy. truly new players, under hl 30, will assume its the same at 80. i think 30 ilvls is plenty of time to get a basic understanding of a few classes.

None of them have “high HL”

All honor level means is that the person enjoys doing bgs. It is not indicative of skill. There are some high honor level folks who aren’t an asset to their team, but rather a hindrance.

this goes back to legion. in legion the diablo devs got to make a wow expansion and they famously don’t pvp, at all, ever. so in order to make the game work with their ideas about leggos and cool sounding spell interactions for pve work with pvp they created templates and most importantly pvp talent points.

so the problem was they they wanted to “add progression” to pvp and for devs who never pvp that means a gear/skill progression tree, this also means that you can’t just drop a player with no pvp talents into the game against people who have full talents.

the solution was prestige mode. in legion you would level honor levels to i think level 50 or so to max out the talent points, when you capped and unlocked everything you were put into prestige mode and had to start over at honor level 1 again, but you would be prestige 1 honor 1. the max you could go was prestige 26 and honor 50 or something. prestige mode players only play with other prestige mode players.

when BfA came out they decided to overhaul pvp again and they took away the talent progression grind and gave you your pvp talents up front, they got rid of prestige levels and converted it all to honor levels. and most importantly, they maintained that new player bracket. honor levels 0-29 are in their own pool while the old prestige bracket became the new honor level 30+ bracket.

its basically been like that ever since. players who had lots of alts all at P26H50 all got that converted to account wide honor level and this gave them a leg up on the grind, though iirc the highest was like 289. there was a short incident were some people were able to grind a few dozen honor levels in a wq before blizzard shut it down, so most people with high honor levels are just pvpers who play all the time.

Have you ever played with Enfers? I rest my case there.

Sound like some based down to earth people.

the famous “shut up pvp guy” recording was a diablo dev.

Honor level is just a metric of time. People at both ends of the spectrum can really surprise you.

For instance, you could have a guy who’s level 1000 but has done nothing but screw around in epics. Then you could play a rated match with a guy who’s say honor level 6 and assume it’s an easy kill, only to find out they’re actually a rank 1 player who’s smurfing.
