Been going through these posts and have seen Nothing but negativity and toxicity and its pretty annoying and cringe and its always the same 3-4 ppl arguing over and over when an op is asking a question i just don’t understand lol
I doubt that’s the case.
Usually, the OP doesn’t realize what a can of worms they are opening when they think they are asking a “simple” question (which usually isn’t simple, BTW).
Truly simple questions get answered quickly, and the thread dies just as quickly.
I suppose it would depend on how you define toxic. I just accept that it’s either entertainment or trolls with the occasional legit question asked which, as was suggested, tends to make for a short thread. If trolls, I make use of the forum ignore list.
In your world is there a way to disagree without it being toxic or does a toxic free environment require uniform opinion and agreement?
And if it does require uniformity, how do you plan on dealing with the wrong thinkers?
Yes there are tons of ways to disagree with someone without it being toxic like wth lol
Well then,
Lol
Which probably is toxic, if there is such a thing, because it’s dismissive.
How is not being toxic when disagreeing with someone dismissive?
I agree with this, someone bring a topic and theres always 3-4 ppl, with characters without any progress, that argue just for the sake of it. I just ignore them and everyone who value his time should do the same.
i love the druids, i don’t think it’s toxic…there is def some druid rivalry going on here though…which is expected, considering many of us are ferals who must fight for dominance
Thats a weird way to say “hunter´s pet”
I mean im pretty sure its chill here but most threads i go through all i see is ppl arguing or overall being an a-hole for no reason
There’s definitely some animosity among some people but overall I think any reader could decipher the answers they’d be looking for amongst the bickering which is kind of good. Long drawn out threads with specifics details even in arguments leads to the right amount of information being given.
Of course people could be a little friendlier and I’m guilty of that with one individual as well (though I did not start that, /digress) but I think it’s entertaining.
All in all this is definitely a forum where your question will get answered for sure. There’s a variety of people who frequent here who partake in many facets of the game.
You do understand that some people simply start posting on a single character and never stop using it, but might not level said character, correct?
The character they are using has nothing to do with their forum content.
As an example, the character I am posting on now is the original version of my main, which is now on another server. I rerolled rather than transferring servers and use that version as my main now. The server I am posting from (Draka) is where that fully leveled 60 used to reside until I switched it to its current server. In order to keep my post history, I moved this original version to Draka, since the forum system only recognizes the name and server of a character. Now I have my post count on a lower leveled version of the character you used to see.
I currently have 10 level 60s on another server, but I choose to post on the forums under this character because I have been doing so under this name and server for years. The level is irrelevant.
Then you miss out when they actually say something worth hearing. I had a few people blocked as well but I recently cleared those out because it’s not worth it to just ignore people that might actually have a good point, now and then.
Better to just mute a thread and move on if someone is just trolling or won’t let something go. I mute threads all the time.
Alternatively, they are just disagreeing and you find discourse unpalatable.
Just because something isn’t instantly turned into an echo chamber doesn’t make it toxic
Not rly but aye assume what u want
I doubt it since many of them just talk about things they don’t know about, everyone have opinions, that doesn’t make them relevant. If I’m gonna add something to a conversation I should know what I’m talking about.
Welp here’s 1 out of the 4
A problem is Flat Earth started as a troll. And somehow people didn’t get the joke.
As for this “Safe Space” type stuff, it’s taken very seriously these days. Troll or not it keeps moving the ball the down the field and people seriously argue that “Silence is violence” and “Speech is violence” now. Hell, even Ion brought up micro aggressions in a Q&A
Great example of these philosophies going completely off the rails is the Evergreen State University incident. One of the most inclusive liberal colleges in the country and they went through some moral panic and concluded it was the most toxic place on earth.
Just want to point out that this:
is what causes:
Ad hominem out of nowhere. I stated something 100% relevant to the topic at hand, didn’t shade anyone or anything, and the “toxicity” and “cringe” moments that derail threads comes out of left field by the OP of all people.
Not sure if you know this or not sir, but you’re part of the problem. Not the solution ![]()
It’s fairly easy to differentiate someone’s post as fluff and being something they’ve experienced themselves. I post on this toon because it’s the same toon I’ve posted on for years and that’s just the way the forum system works. It doesn’t reward you for posting on the relevant character, it rewards you for posting on the same character. I wouldn’t be opposed to Blizzard having something more in line of showing alts in armory profiles but they push it one step further and allow you to make your armory private. I post my druid in these forums frequently and am not ashamed of my personal progress. I’m primarily an m+ player and stick my toes briefly in everything else and my profile reflects that. I mostly post in regards to class / spec balance in that particular area of the game.
