Iâm guessing weâll need 90 renown to fly. Theyâll add the additional 10 renown in patch 9.1.5.
More sht to grind⌠YA!!!
Yet they said this xpac wouldnât be an endless grind, Iâm starting to think everything they said last xpac about this one was a lie.
And timegated, of course.
Yeah those whopping renowns take soooo long to complete each week. /sigh
Before SL: âFlying will only require maximum renownâ.
Patch 9.1: âBy the way, weâre moving the goalposts and doubling the distance you need to make that goal.â
Awful bait-and-switch, a seriously bad look. I try to give them benefit of the doubt but there is simply no excusing their completely missing the point regarding these grinds.
I love how people said they wanted flying faster and they literally are making it a similar length, but no part 1 or 2.
Blizz at 9.1 launch: See guys, flying, quicker⌠by one month
Blizzard? Lying in order to sell products? Iâve never heard of such a thing!
If we take the existing campaign model and estimate the 9.1 campaign will only have between 6-8 chapters, the timeline for unlocking flying at renown 80 looks like this:
6 chapters results in renown 58 after the 6th week. From there, 11 more weeks (presuming 2 per week pace like right now).
8 chapters results in renown 64 after the 8th week. 8 more weeks after that (presuming 2 per week pace like right now). Only a week of difference between these two approaches.
In either case itâs looking at nearly 4 months after 9.1 drops for flying. Surely there will be more renown available from 9.1 activities + 9.0 weeklies? Otherwise this is simply absurd and not what anyone asked for.
Did they confirm we needed max renown for flying
I thought they said you just needed to complete the covenant campaign. My guess would be that is renown 60 at most.
A good point, they did clarify this somewhat. So taking the above values, itâs between 6 and 8 weeks to unlock flying after 9.1 drops.
If 9.1 drops late May (this is being optimistic, Iâm not sure they get it out that fast if theyâre dropping 9.0.5 in mid-March), then everyone gets flying by the end of July to early August.
shrug. Itâs still not soon.
honestly they may as well make it 1000 renown for all I care.
In legion when I started there was some desire to get flight. I still farm in the content as bad as it was. I have ZERO desire to come back after the fact and farm in BFA or SLs based on what Ive seen so far.
I wont be bringing in alts to SLs, so thats not an issue.
I dont really care about doing the PF as long as its not going to be too extreme this time, but I want flight for farming AFTER the fact.
By the time we get flight now its way too late to make a killing on mats anyway. Theyve already come down enough that Im back to farming old content to make gold.
I could swear by Odin that THAT is what I read as well , lol.
Three words come to mind.
IâŚOâŚN.
What else should we expect?
I wish theyd just set a date and let us fly. Using it as a hook isnt working. Players who WiLL do all the grinding will do it anywayâŚand flight just isnt much of a hook to make someone do it when the content is pathetic.
Just set a flippin date and turn flight on that day and let players have it for god sake.
the point just blew right on over, lol.
NOTHING in this game is hard. Nothing. Even the âhardâ stuff is just remembering when to jump lol.
Pointlessly Tedious is the phrase I think many of us are thinking.
renown doesnât really require tons of grinding to catch up TBH.
took me 3 weeks of relatively casual play to go from 1 to current cap. The weekly quests take under an hour to hammer out each week and I found that i got a reasonable amount of levels from the storylines, raiding, and the weekly 3 to barrel through them pretty quickly
Worst thing is, they literally have it their way, cause you are now at that point in a new zone, barely visiting the other 4 zones and I lose any interest in flying. They basically cooked up a way for flying to not be relevant thus having it their way.
That doesnât make it any less of a lie because itâs still an endless grindfest if they continue to add to it and add to it and thus my original point stands.
is it really a grindfest if your literally just playing out the questlines?
When you literally have to spend ages and ages to get the amounts of anima you do and renown levels when it should be done, yes, if you want to do that cool and good for you but from what I can see from this thread most of us donât so.
What has there been an endless grind for?
Lets see you need anima to upgrade buildings, armor if you use it, collect cosmetic stuff, etc. and when you only get little by little here and there and most things average at least 1000 or more per thing I would see it as a grind.
Previous expansions have had the same issue with artifact power, you can pretend you donât see and issue with this and thatâs fine but please donât waste my time and yours.
