S3 starts on the 5th w/ the story content, and normal/heroic/M0 dungeons. The raid/pvp/M+ stuff starts the 12th. What’s hard to understand about that?

That’s not season 3. Thats 11.2 before the season starts.
Yes, that’s Season 3.

Season 3 includes the story and the new dungeon rotation, you can claim thats not part of the season all you want, but you would be flat out wrong.

Look at the articles. One of them says the raid, new M+ and new Delves starts on the 5th. All of it, the full season. The other says the 12th.
The one that says the 5th links you to the 12th. A bit on the bad communications front, but that is nothing new for MicroActaBlizz.
that means we should get midnight somewhere around the end of January or the start of February and I am so stoked for player housing.

the 5th is to prepare by letting you learn the dungeons. its almost like you left that detail out on purpose to try and act like you are smart.

What a weird and irrelevant response.
I’m pointing out that they made two announcements within minutes of eachother. One saying that S3 M+ and raid starts on the 12th (which is correct and gives everyone a week to do the new story and whatever), and another saying that S3 M+ and Raid arrive on the 5th, which is wrong.
I know how it will work, many people know how it will work, but others will be confused because news sites like WoWhead were already reporting bad info because of their botched announcement.

Yes. And then the other article says that season 3 arrives on the 5th. One says season 3 starts on the 5th, the other says it starts on the 12th.

Only if you click the link. Its not only the title. The title says the 5th, and then the text of the post says raid and mythic+. If someone only wanted the info on when Season 3 starts, that article says it starts on the 5th until you click the extra link that provides different info than the title and body of the post. Many people will feel no need to click the link if it already gave them the info they were looking for, without knowing its wrong.
If you only read titles, you deserve to be confused. If you only read part of the article, you’d still be confused. If you read the WHOLE article, including what’s listed under “week of August 12” you shouldn’t be confused.

Does Season 3 start on the 5th? No.
Is there currently an official announcement on the official forums stating in the title and initial body text before clicking an additional link that Season 3 arrives on the 5th? Yes.
Is that shoddy miscommunication on Blizzards part? Yes.
Basically I’m trying to say “go to bed grandpa.”
As always, there is debate around when the S2 achievements (such as AOTC) actually “end”…Patch date or S3 start date.
Generally it’s the patch day.
Because you are a stickler for details and specific verbiage, you said it yourself. They may “arrive” as of the 5th, so you know what to look forward to and prep, but do not “start” until the 12th, one week after they arrive. Season 3, for everything else starts on the 5th, however, M+ is delayed a week, just like it has been in every other Season for the past few expacs. M+ is not the ONLY Season 3 content.
