No it still doesn’t. Please try to understand the terminology “canon” in order to understand why a “clarification” given in an unofficial capacity on a personal social media account does not “make it so”. We’d have less of a problem if Steve Danuser were the sole actual owner of the IP in question, because then there would be no distinction between official vs. inofficial … but that’s simply not the case.
And while your friends and fellow players may or may not accept your statement it still has zero impact on the canonized fiction that represents the “World of Warcraft”.
There’s little doubt that the “clarification” came via Steve’s personal twitter account. Your fundamental misunderstanding lies with the fact that Steve Danuser is not the actual owner of the IP and thus all statements that are supposed to be canon have to be made in an official capacity which in casrs like this is usually tied to a corporate account.
No it wouldn’t have been canon but people not understanding “canon” would certainly have thought so (and thus made a claim like you just did).
If Neil Gaiman is the sole owner to the rights of the associated IP then you’d be correct.
If JKR is the sole owner to the rights of the associated IP then you’d be correct … particularly because JKR would be considered to act in her official capacity as the arbiter on all matters “Harry Potter”.
Nice strawman …
Oh he indeed gave a clear private statement that has no true canon value.
That’s what Steve Danuser said and thinks on a personal level.
And the next strawman.
More strawmanning, or where did I question the “truth” of Steve having made the particular statement or it not being his personal truth?
I’m merely pointing out that he made his statement in a capacity that doesn’t make it “canon” and additionally there don’t seem to be other canon references to Chronormu within game or books that would confirm Steve’s statement.
And this is subsequently a conclusion drawn upon several false premises that can be dismissed as incorrect … and also shows that you not only don’t really know what constitutes “canon” but don’t quite grasp the concept of “objectivity” either.
