This is getting old. First off, I agree the WoD decision with flying and immediate unsubs are directly related. Players voted with their wallets big time.

All of that said, for those that want to fly, fly. For those that do t like it, don’t. It isn’t that hard a concept.

I feel pathfinder is here tk stay. I have no issue being grounded t ok start. Explore. See the nooks and crannies. All that. However, part two needs to be a little bit more expedient. I don’t want it right when I am going to start a new zone where I cannot fly. It is a waste.

So yeah. Fly if you want. Don’t fly if it breaks your immersion. Speed up part 2 and give us some choice.

  1. How do you know that this one issue was the sole reason for people leaving as opposed to class design, garrisons, mission tables, or lack of end game content aside from raiding?

  2. How is it an “about-face” if Blizzard implemented the same system in Legion?

Not sure how OP’s post is bait; dead horse aside, they’re telling the truth.

If you were the overwhelming majority like you seem to think you are in that deluded little Gnomish brain of yours, then you’d already have flying at the start of every expansion, rather than the half-measures they’ve implemented that please both sides.

The information to prove you wrong is right there. You also have 0 proof that the “mass exodus” in WoD or anywhere after that is directly due to flying. That’s your own confirmation bias at work.

Of course it’s not as simple as that. Flying was not implemented immediately. It was returned as an achievement that required completing much of the single player content. And that same system has been implemented in the two xpacs following WoD.

If you want to test this theory I suggest you find the highest point in BfA, mount up your favorite flying mount, and take a leap.

Let’s accept your premise as true for a moment, that y’all are in the majority. So what? WoD’s exodus was much more to do with a lack of content. The Pathfinder achievements are one of the best things Blizzard could have done about flying, cause it allows for flying to still exist, but requires ground travel for current content.

The worst thing Blizzard could do is capitulate to its often idiotic playerbase. That’s how you end up with BFA, Blizzard listened to all the complaining mouthbreathers and dumbed down everything that made Legion good because people were too stupid to enjoy the game.

Bait doesn’t have to be fictional. Bait just means its designed to cause drama. You can be completely truthful, yet still bait people.

Nothing will be accomplished in this thread other than a flying/antiflying trollathon.

Pathfinder was a great idea. You know what else is a great idea? Ya see I got this whistle I can use and it takes me straight to a fp. That’s a great idea too.

Flying will come and when it does ill be happy. But Honestly it ain’t that serious.

If you think about it…flying in this current expansion posses some interesting questions particularly when it comes to War mode. What’s to prevent a group of 30 Angry zandalari trolls from swooping down on your little gnome warlock as your trying to lvl?

Blizzard has a formula. Half way it will be released. Not a surprise. Just chill.

This is the prevailing opinion of the actual majority of the playerbase. The people who are still up in arms and fuming about flying not being immediately available are actually a minority at this point.

Has anyone came out and said they didn’t want flying? Or are they simply saying they are indifferent?

I have seen forums of people claiming flying was one of the things that “killed the game” but that’s mostly on the wow Classic discussions.

Personally I am glad flying is gone. The more people that are pro flight that leave the game, the better.

My issue with flying is that there’s an arbitrary time at which they allow players to fly. I enjoy pathfinder; why aren’t parts 1 and 2 in the game from launch?

People whine about time gating on other things, but this is the ultimate example of it.

I like earnings things. I don’t like waiting until a certain arbitrary point at which blizzard says… okay NOW you can fly. Just put parts 1 and 2 in the game from at launch.

I can see the classic supporters saying that. They do have a different idea of what makes the game fun, which is fine for the classic variant they are launching.

On a whole though I don’t remember seeing anyone saying they shouldn’t bring flying to BFA. I have always been in the “patience” camp. As long as it is coming I am ok without it for the moment.

I could be wrong though.
