Literally the worst Blizzcon ever. Being booed at your own event.

Not just that. The diehard fans that spent hundreds (in some cases thousands) to come and have fun at an event hosted by the game company they love(d).

This whole scenario is really something else.

Is there a link to the boo'ing? I could use some release.

I still can't believe they genuinely thought they were going to hype a mobile game to a crowd that was most likely 95%+ PC exclusive players. Bringing out a mobile game is effectively this equivalent to them just saying "You don't matter to us, we want that sweet sweet Chinese mobile market?"
This is the first blizzcon I can remember being completely underwhelmed. It's a weird feeling. A few remasters and a mobile game I'll never play. Cool

Literally the worst Blizzcon ever. Being booed at your own event. Then condescending the crowd. "D-do you not have phones?" You guys got lucky the attendees didnt have your hides. Pathetic and disgusting.

Maybe the general public is right about video game players being adult children if this is apparently the reaction to seeing a game you dislike. Jesus, you guys act as if your dog was killed in front of you. Chill the frick out. These are video games. Hobbies. Forms of enjoyment. You don't have to pretend you'd kill someone for not making something you like.

To make you understand better imagine if your favorite show you watched for 12 seasons suddenly became everything you hated. I guarantee you'd be throwing your low fat ice cream at the screen.
They need to understand real gamers aren't interested in cell phone games.

Cell Phone games are not even casual games, they are..... super casual? games. Point and click type junk that old people play, or people who aren't even really into video games tinker with for a few minutes a day.

Diablo (and #2) was a game for gamers -- people who sat at desktop PCs, and maybe later on, laptops playing it.

Why would they think that PC gamers would want a cell phone game of the franchise?

Did they not learn from Command and Conquer? They tried this and they got backlash for it too.

We. Don't. Want. Cell. Phone. Games. of our favorite PC franchises. We just.... we don't.
I hope the "Do you guys not have phones?" become the new "sense of pride and accomplishment" and bite blizzard in the !@#, that stunt costed EA lots of money since that star war game flopped very hard and they had to pretty much stop the cash shop for months.

People are passionate about their hobbies. There is nothing wrong with that. The Diablo salt was well deserved. I know if I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for this announcement...and saw what transpired, I'd have some choice words to say.

Blizzard tries to quell expectations. Expectations still way too high, lol.

Other Diablo projects being worked on and not announced yet are probably not very excited to show their work anymore.
Guess what else you can do on a phone... sell stock! How about that?
I liked the WoW: What's Next panel. The upcoming changes actually look quite good, and I'm excited for them.

As for Diablo: Immortal, perhaps BlizzCon wasn't the best place to announce it. If it had been announced at a mobile games convention, I'm sure it would have gone over better.
......I don't have a phone.
Why would they need to spin anything?

They made the money selling Blizzcon to capacity, they made money selling virtual tickets, they're making money right now on people buying WCIII+ pre-orders, and they are going to make a ton of money from the mobile games market, which absolutely dwarfs (no offense) any other market segment.

The shareholders are throwing a party right now.

They already relisted the Diablo video to reset the likes/dislikes and keep deleting top comments.

It's back at like 17 downvotes and 300 upvotes. So it's not like people are letting them get away with it.

That's what they're trying to do though.
I said that would happen. It’s just going to get downvoted again and again. Then people won’t play it. Blizz seriously does NOT get it. They remind me of 1990s IBM with their hubris and living off past success, only to fade into obscurity.
The only reason blizzard told people to temper their expectations of Diablo announcements was because they saw backlash coming after the EA backlash for command in conquer. It's justified salt, they saw it was coming and went ahead anyway *shrug* They have lost touch.
