I was actually thinking of something closer to GW2’s fractal system. Basically, fractals give gear that’s viable outside of it, but it specifically scales for fractal dungeons.
Because M+ and raids are intended to be separate content, they should offer gear that’s good but not the best for the other block of content.
The problem is that’s not how these things work. Raiders shouldn’t feel obligated to run M+ dungeons to run raids, M+ dungeoneers shouldn’t feel obligated to run raids.
It would be deeply concerning if evergreen content that you can run endlessly wasn’t the most popular end game game mode. You’re supposed to run it over and over and over again by design.
No, I hate M+ because aside from it being another excuse to not make more content it’s a game mode designed to exploit the worst tendencies in people. And a lot of it’s problems have obvious solutions- let people pick what afixes they deal with. Hell, expand on it. And do away with the key system. Punishing people with afixes they don’t like and punishing people for failing a key is stupid. Not completing the dungeon is already a punishment, it didn’t need a double whammy.
