These abilities are too complicated to use and designing a fight with a teleport and shield is impossible.
Having a fight with a mechanic designed over a shield is just dumb. If you dont have anyone with the shield, the fight will be impossible.
You can fix this problem by just deleting signature ablities. We don’t want a repeat of BFA.

no. just put them on a separate tab. game play wise they can be talent rows that can be swapped in any rest area. story wise you can be tied to a single covenant.

This but go ahead and remove the themed visuals too.
The new abilities, imo, should just be new class abilities or talents. Blizzard is over complicating things, as per the norm.

Just remove the game design abilities from covenants and do the work to created all the classes and specs good on their own, no more borrowed power systems that are confusing and a grindfest.
This has been told to the dev team since they announced it and they have yet to talk to us about this bad design.

How about we actually have fun new things

Sure… This isn’t that, though.
When being forced to choose between the covenant I like, the ability I like, or the ability that is best for my spec… I’m going to be unhappy with any choice I make.
“Fun” indeed.

“fun”, having to create 4 characters so you don’t pick the wrong covenant btw

At this point I’m hoping they are looking to implement a lore friendly reason characters can swap abilities on occasion. As much as I hated the idea of just relegating them to a new talent row it would probably be the safest option and allow us to choose a covenant based only on RP factors.
I liked the idea of covenants being a significant character defining choice that included power, but this particular system just doesn’t fit the game as it is today.
If we still played in a classic-like world where you only had one talent build (or duelspec at most) then the covenant system would make more sense and you’d be making one more decision that defines your character. But the game has set the expectation of being able to swap specs at a moment’s notice. Heck, most gear still swaps primary stay based on your spec. The only thing that doesn’t is azerite gear and people hate that mess.
It also just isn’t going to be balanced. I’d personally be fine with something balanced within a few percentage points but they are nowhere close and it’s broken well beyond the range of what a numbers pass could hope to solve.
