The spec is completely useless if you want to actually enjoy PvE. Energy is a complete joke, no ones want to be pooling energy, thats too old for the current gameplay, you gotta do something….
I have played rogue for so long. I don’t even know what keys i’m pressing because i’ve gotten to the point of automatic behavior. I really don’t like the changes done, or the approach we are supposed to be trying. Take away your energy so we can be more methodical, but give nothing in return. Then turn our DOT class into a burst play class. I agree with you, and having a 2 spec class isn’t unheard of. I did figure out i’m just not having fun anymore and since i’ve put so much effort into this class and they are just bound and determined to make it worse, I’ve decided if the class isn’t fun anymore to just quit WoW until they “Either delete the spec or rework it”

I haven’t played wow since I got to 90, Rogue just isn’t fun to play right now. You are just sitting and wasting to use something 50% of the time.
As long as there’s an adequate payoff, I think resource pooling is fine. Blizzard should be slowing rotations down a little, not pushing everyone to be endlessly GCD locked. Not everyone wants to play piano simulator: carpal tunnel edition.
The problem as I see it is that Assassination isn’t getting the payoff it deserves.
It’s just not worth it. We can’t control the conditions of dungeons or pvp, which means we’re victim to circumstances rather than able to really even strive for mastery. On top of that, which is already disqualifying - we don’t have performance to back up the hoops we now jump through.
Raid logs are coming in and we’re pretty squarely in the bottom. I think we’re something like 5th from the worst of 27 specs. It’s just objectively bad, as well as subjectively awful. Add in silence and you have the trifecta, and yet some people here still try to gaslight others into thinking we’re fine.
I am not alone, I see. Unfortunately, my main is a sin rogue. Always has been. I think I am too sentimental to try another spec, but this release has me thinking about it. Are the other two specs any better?
sub rogue is really fun right now. outlaw is fun to, just a lil to a lot more RNG going on.

Oh hey, people suffering just like me. How sad. I came back from quitting in BfA (with a small return for TWW) and it’s been quite the ride leveling Sin to 90.
Mashing all these keys and only out-DPSing the Disc priest is such a fun experience.

No. I have played assassination for nearly a decade on my rogue. It is my primary alt right now. I love the flow of combat while soloing. Pooling sucks tbf. It needs better energy regen and a damage tweak, better payoff for pooling, or a way to reduce the cd on thistle tea.
I do not enjoy sub. Never have. Never will. Perhaps we should delete it because I don’t enjoy it? I also have no interest in outlaw.
