Delays on the standard UI raid frames

I DO NOT USE ANY ADDONS, AND ALREADY DID A UI RESET

if I click quickly between frames a few times, it will not allow me to target someone else until I stop clicking for a second. There’s also a delay between clicking frames, which has become rather problematic when I’m healing BGs. If I download a new Unit Frame the problem goes away, but I’m used to my configuration and don’t know how to replicate it. I use the standard UI frames to avoid these issues, this is ridiculous.

I have noticed this as well, and find it incredibly frustrating as a Healer (MW main). I’ve lost games due to this.

I use the standard UI raid frames for healing because I like the way they look/work. I’ve never felt a need to change them with add-ons. I’d rather not be forced to pick up a raid frames add-on.

I’m not sure what the issue is here, but I really do hope someone will be looking into this ASAP, seeing as Season 3 has already started.

I am also experiencing this exact same thing and I also use default raid frames. This problem did not exist before 9.2. Something with 9.2 changed raid frames.

Do all of you folks use a completely stock UI, never having installed other addons?

Because it’s entirely possible with a new patch that any addon will mess with any element of a UI. Sometimes chat box addons will mess with you clicking on maps and NPCs, sometimes DPS tracking addons will cause display issues, and indeed, sometimes some random addon not related to raid frames might mess with stock, default raid frames.

Have any of you tried a full UI reset, following the directions in the support article? Note that just shutting off or uninstalling addons isn’t what we’re after here… the UI must be reset to rule out an offending addon:

I have tried disabling addons completely and resetting the UI to stock. The problem persists. The problem did not exist before 9.2. OP did as well, read the first sentence of his post. The problem is the game.

Hey all,

If this issue can be reproduced by multiple players on a default UI (after resetting the UI) there could potentially be a new bug causing it. I did search through our list of confirmed bugs for 9.2 but I am not seeing this issue being mentioned. It’s possible that this hasn’t shown up in our QA testing if there aren’t very many people noticing it.

I would recommend reporting the details of how to reproduce the issue, and information about how it’s changed from pre-9.2 functionality, over on the #support:bug-report forums. This will get the information over to our QA team so they can see if it can be reproduced internally and if so perhaps it can be hotfixed or patched.

Thanks!

I am having the exact same issue. I only have DETAILS and WEAK AURAS. No raid frame or healing or name plate addons at all. Noticeable only since 9.2. Its exactly as you described: if i am switching between targets via clicking on raid frames, some times it wont select and stay stuck on previous selection. It used to flow smooth and fast between selections. Now im wasting GCDs to reclick, or putting a big CD on the wrong target, in a make or break situation. Not cool at all. Its behaving like some sort of spam filter is active, if mouse clicks were messages. Too many in a given window and it doesnt let one through…

Reply to this thread please to get some actual traction on this bug fix.

I did read the first sentence of his post. Thanks for assuming I didn’t, though.

If you would have read my post, you would have realized that I suggested the patch broke something with a random addon. Not necessarily an addon used specifically for raid frames.

Such a problem would, indeed, happen after a new patch. So… yeah.

My suggestion was valid and I would suggest the same thing again to anyone having a similar problem. That’s just simple logic and basic, intelligent troubleshooting.

If you take your car to the mechanic because it won’t start, the mechanic will not proceed to change out your starter until they verify your car actually has gas in it.

And I do mean verify. Not just ‘take your word for it’. That’s not how tech support works.

So, basic troubleshooting. No need to be snarky. I do read posts before I reply.

Thanks and good luck.

Thanks for assuming I had addons when I didn’t (I even told you I didn’t in big bold letters,) no reason to get snarky LOL. You’re literally treating people like idiots wondering why they’re frustrated with you.

May be a long shot, but I had the same issue and what fixed it was going to Interface > !Combat and checking on Unit Frame Mouseover Cast, but leaving the key option as None. It immediately solved that delay on my unit frames. Hope it works for you guys as well.

This appears to have resolved the issue for me mostly. There is still some lag but maybe 5-10% of the time as opposed to 50%. Thank you so much for this. Holy moly that was frustrating. I’m going to link this every where else that’s relevant.

I too am having this issue. It is making raid healing very, very annoying. Like everyone else, around 50% of the time my spell will be cast on the PREVIOUS target rather than the newly selected target.

Didn’t fix the problem but helped. Leave it to blizzard to ruin their own game. “Go to 400 dpi” LMAO!
