Delayed sounds, "not responding"; game crashes

hi blizzard it’s the last week of the season and i’d like to q some fun arena

currently ability sounds will mute and then dump 2 minutes worth of sounds all at once (this has been happening since i installed beta, but i can simply mute sound). also game will freeze, say “not responding”, and then either resume functioning or crash entirely (this is recent).

this is not ideal for 3v3 pvp. pls help.

edit: blue post temporary fix did not work, even with an entirely fresh install void of PTR/Beta installs

This is being addressed at Persistent Green Circle Icon - “game data is being downloaded.” . They are going to be releasing a fix, no eta yet though.
