Delay on looting mobs

There’s an extra delay when looting mobs and it’s not because of latency, there’s an addon named “FasterLooting” which fixes it. There are also other Addons that come with this function included.
Anyway why do we have to use an addon for this? was this delay reported in the Beta? are they working to fix it? are they even aware of it?

Curious about this as well.

I have a lot of questions. But I’m inclined to believe this doesn’t exist. How could an addon make looting faster? How much faster could it possibly be to make it worth it?

Does spell batching apply to looting?

It does, I noticed it during the stress test and a friend told me about this addon and it does fix it. I guess there’s something fcked up in the code of looting but that’s Blizz’s work. I’m worried that this exists since closed beta day 1 and three months later on the last stress test it was still there.

How long is the delay?

It’s like half a second maybe. If you move after shift right clicking to loot all, you still receive the loot after the loot window closes.

I still fail to see how an addon could fix this. It would almost certainly need to use something that blizzard would break. If you can subvert spell batching, what’s to stop you from doing it during combat.

I didn’t notice a delay, but if you chose auto-loot, trying to loot a body that was sparkling would often times give you nothing…I was wondering if this is what you mean, and I wonder if this got fixed.

Autolooting has always been around.

I have this problem as well, 0.5 second delay when looting or hitting my abilities. I am in Canada.
Just like the BFA problem going on when sharding.
Now this is all the time in classic tho. I just logged in BFA in a unpopular zone/time and its fine.

Come on.
