Delay in characters loading when starting game

When wow starts, My character menu loads but there is a 3 ro 4 second delay for the characters to load.

Troubleshooting steps I’ve tried.

• Updated Nvidia Drivers (Clean Installation)
• Uninstalled Nvidia Drivers completely, ran a clean of all nv*.* and removed everything nvidia related. Rebooted. Reinstalled the latest Nvidia drivers.
• Deleted \World of Warcraft\WTF
• Deleted \World of Warcraft\Interface
• Deleted \World of Warcraft\Cache

At this point my next step is to purchase a new SSD because I am thinking it may be SSD related. Has anybody else experienced this issue?

I don’t recall when this started happening but in the past when the game loaded my characters menu would populate fast.

I had this problem. Then I deleted the contents of my cache folder a few days ago. The problem went away.

We have a request in now to get this investigated with the information in this thread. I’m keeping my eye on the investigation and we’ll let you know once we get more information. Thanks so much for all your reports and testing with me thus far. I think we’ve done some good ground work here to help narrow things down.
