Defile Visual Effect

Hello,
With defile becoming a go to talent, its increasingly obvious that its visuals need an update. Unlike most ground visual effects, defile’s sits on top of everything else. Enemy ground effects should be higher on the strata level as to go on top of defile so we can still see what is happening around us. This doesn’t only cause issues for death knights, but anyone in our party/raid as well.

Bumping this, it would be great not to play ground effect hard mode this season.

The fact that they devoted cosmetic resources to fix what our runes look like vs something that affects gameplay like this is frustrating.

They made some spells have priority over it but not all, it got me killed a bunch of times even after that.

With defile and this new trinket from the reach I can’t see anything on the ground.

Yes please, this is such a huge pain. Press all 30 buttons to get damage ramped up, drop defile, instantly die to something you can’t see. It’s a cool graphic if you’re just standing in town casting it for no reason, but add any kind of ground mechanic to the equation and it becomes insanely frustrating. Never had this issue with DnD, don’t see why they couldn’t just use the DnD graphic and make it expand like defile.

They should also put spells like defile on the character, so it acts like the skill Abomination limb moving with you. playing with pug tanks that don’t use skills like death and decay or consecration make it hard to keep the mobs in it.

Literally killing us with this. Please add a Glyph that lets us use the DND graphic.

Honestly, the entire class could use a bit of work in the visual and sound department. Unholy Blight is using the insect swarm sound effect from Vanilla. Defile looks pretty much like it did in WotLK. Death Coil is one of the highest damaging abilities for Unholy and sounds like a whisper. AMS is still using the same graphic since WotLK…

Just one of the many reasons I have no desire to play m+ on my DK at all this season.

For the love of god fix this, so many spells have lower priority over defile its crazy.

Came here hoping to see this. Please notice us blizzard.

A challenge to any dev out there, play defile this week in freehold. Pick out the faint white frontals under the tar pit ground effect that is your best way of doing aoe. Fix this please. Just use the normal defile visual, color it green or some nonsense.

Underrot as well, which we will all spend time in, grieving our party with faint green aoe from those white and red bugs :lady_beetle: it’s been fun so far lololol

It blows my mind how this still isn’t fixed. It’s actually kind of disgusting. Like what is going on

No dev plays DK, that’s why. It’s so blatantly apparent that defile is miserably bad that there is no other explanation.

Also, blizzard has stated that they are reworking Rune of Power for mage because “its unreasonable to have somebody commit to a fixed location for 12 seconds” yet dk’s are all forced into this playstyle, especially oblit frost.

Again, only explanation, blizz doesn’t play DK.

Bumping this again! DK got benched after dying to swirls hidden under defile. T_T

defile has holes in its animation so you can see through it, it used to be like the LK defile and cover everything up, i don’t remember when they changed this, but defile was “fixed” a long time ago.

Don’t think you’ve played the game with defile if you think it’s fixed
