As title says, the default cooldown text timer is always enabled regardless if I toggle it on or off. This is an issue if you (like me) prefer addons like omniCC.
Are you referring to the “Show Numbers for Cooldowns” setting under Action Bars in the interface options? I had this issue with WeakAuras (and fixed by toggling Hide Timer Text on every affected aura) but the default action bars never displayed it. Never had to toggle the setting on and back off, either.
EDIT: Okay, I have seen it in one new place on the default UI. When an item with a cooldown is used from its icon next to a quest in the quest tracker, the default cooldown numbers are showing there. OmniCC used to be handling that number for me but it is being pre-empted by the game now in this case. Might be that the addon needs an update to take back precedence via some sort of additional flag.
I’m an OmniCC user, and this patch is absolute garbage. If they were going to add this feature by default, they should have at least given us a way to turn it off!
I tried fiddling with everything and anything I could find, I managed to fix the timers on my elvui action bars and stuff to only show omnicc timers.
But my wa’s, diminish, etc are all double stacked numbers. The only fix I’ve found is literally disabling omnicc and running the base game cool down timers, but that isn’t much of a solution now is it?
I’d wager this is all a side effect of the implementation of their built-in Cooldown Manager. It doesn’t make sense that it’d be forcing such displays when that feature isn’t enabled by the player. I got lucky with my WAs in that I already wasn’t using OmniCC for timer text on them, defining WA text all this time instead.
I’ve just bit the bullet and uninstalled omnicc for the time being, luckily elvui has timer/cd and general font override features similar to omnicc that seem to be working fine. I wouldn’t recommend something like elvui to someone who just wants timers and font generalization as it’s a literal UI over hall addon that I just happen to already be using.
Hopefully addon creators are able to get this all sorted out, still don’t have a clue how Blizz managed to brick their personal resource tracker and class power display as well with the addition of their half-baked cooldown tracker.
