Deepwind Gorge Redesign
Visions of N’Zoth also brings a visual update and redesign for Deepwind Gorge. 
Inspired by Arathi Basin, the new Deepwind Gorge has five capture points for teams to battle over. Maintaining control over the Market, Farm, Ruins, Shrine, and Quarry will be key to securing victory as the first faction to reach 1500 points wins!
Players will find and be able to queue for the new Deepwind Gorge in the Battleground section of the Group Finder (default hotkey: i).

It’s been known for a while. I never would have known either, but a friend told me since he wanted us to get the “Gorgeous” title before it goes away.
Sounds good to me, I always thought the way “current” Deepwind Gorge plays out is kind of gimmicky… especially the way you can suddenly “lose” all your points out of nowhere.
Making it play like Arathi Basin is a good thing imo
Oh wow, I didn’t realize they were taking the title away, that’s unfortunate. On the bright side, I heard there were new achievements being added, it’ll be nice to queue DWG in the weeks to come to get them.
The Gorgeous title isn’t going away. The criteria for it is being changed to facilitate the new gameplay, but as far as I know everyone that already has it will keep it and everyone that doesn’t still have an opportunity to earn it.

I think they could take a lesson from League of Legends here. Maybe new battlegrounds don’t have to be new pvp concepts. Maybe some of them can just be capture the flag or base capping but in new areas.

Why do we need another Arathi Basin? I liked having one that was a mix of Cap and Hold, and Capture the flag. It feels dumbed down without the mine carts. The old Deepwind Gorge with the mine carts made people use different strategies, and now it is just the same old thing as AB was. This was NOT a good change IMO.

Easily one of the stupidest changes I’ve noticed since starting to play retail again since Monday night… Only 2nd to the whole “Twinking is banned but
120 is now the new meta in low level BGs” fiasco.
Yet we still can’t blacklist the God awful Seething Shore battleground

Removing the “capture 4 carts” achievement is a gift. Anyone can get the title now.

The redesigned bg looks much worse IMHO. It’s way over-saturated with greens everywhere. The old one had better color distribution and had its uniqueness with having carts. I wish I could black list it now…
