I’m new to Resto Sham, and Mythic+ in general and I have a question related to this Lego
I’ve been told this a good Lego to use in M+ as a big DPS CD, but I was wondering about the taunt aspect of it
Is this a nuisance for tanks when it is used? Should it be used on bosses or just large AoE pulls?

The taunt mechanic doesn’t work on bosses. In an organized group the tank will call for it, if pugging just let it rip.
It can be a nuisance if it prevents targets from being stacked or worse keeps them in place on a negative effect. You have to be particularly careful on sanguine week, but beyond that earth ele will generally be to the benefit of the group simply for existing even without the legendary. With the legendary its great for any case where the tank wants to pull multiple packs though you might want to keep an eye on it since earth ele will not last its full duration if left alone.
Earth ele taunt is really weak, most of the time it won’t even rip threat from the tank as long as you cast it a few seconds after pull.
In the case it does get threat though, just have a focus macro targeting your earth ele and heal it so it doesn’t die
