Deep Breath crashes client

I’ve been playing on my M3 Macbook since August and I updated to Sequoia today and suddenly every time I press Deep Breath on my Preservation Evoker the game crashes. The targeting reticle does not appear and the game near instantly crashes. Never had this problem before the update.

Just went back to level my Evoker tonight and found the same thing. A number of Evoker spells crash the client. This was not happening during the MOP Timerunning event.

It appears there are some pre-existing complaints about Sequoia already by Mac users.

This is happening to me whenever I try to cast Landslide. Happened twice in solo shuffle, twice in Dorn while waiting in queue. I can reproduce it every single time.

I noticed the same thing today. Evoker has been working fine but today anytime I cast deep breath or landslide it crashes the client immediately. Happened 3 times in a blitz match and is repeatable in Dorn.

Also happening to me, on MacOS 15.3.1. This started within the last two days; I’m not sure if it there was an update for Wow or if it was the 15.3.1 update. Regardless, Mac mini m4, consistently crashes with both Deep Breath and Landslide.

I have not tried landslide and I never played much evoker besides preservation–does it have the same style of targeting that deep breath has? It seems to be like it has to have something to do with the target ui/graphic as it happens as soon as pressing the button the targeting graphic never appears.

Still happening today. Am also a Mac user. Here’s the latest bug ID: 2C48D31E-FF53-47B0-9621-0F5C07ACE816

This is happening on my druid, m4 as well. Celestial Alignment…crash to desktop.

I posted in a different thread (Game crashes with landslide+deep breath - #2 by Missguided-trollbane) as I didn’t see this one first, so just going to add in that this is happening to me as well.

I also tried to see if monk spells that required you to select an area on the ground caused a crash, but they seemed to be fine. (Am so new to Evoker that not sure if the Evoker reticle is unique to Evokers, but figured I’d try anyway). This was after completely wiping my UI.

Sounds like it is only impacting mac users and is specifically ground targeted spells that allow for range adjustment. So things like deep breath, landslide, and celestial alignment with orbital strike talented. Has anyone tried using an @cursor macro so the targeting line never pops up?

Disabling addons isn’t enough and a Full UI Resetand doesn’t fix the problem. Waiting for the second time on a fresh install. :frowning: .

same. I tried everything. I’m thinking we might have to wait until they fix this bug :frowning:

Nope on the second fresh install. My Evoker is down for the count.

I created a ticket and got the same auto response about remove add ons update mac os and reinstall game which has not helped. We need to make sure we are opening tickets and pushing back so they know this is an issue

Same issues… it’s definitely not fun

I have a ticket open and they said it was my “Window management software” lol…whatever that means. I have reset all settings removed add ons, reinstalled, and updated my OS. I even created a new user on my mac and tried from there. issue still persists

I tested @cursor with landslide and it does successfully cast the spell without crashing.

For what it’s worth, here is a ticket I started with Blizzard.

Summary
Mac Client is crashing when spells with range targeting reticle is used, such as Landslide or Deep Breath ok Evoker.

I’ve disabled addons, completely reset my UI, and ran the repair tool to try and resolve the issue.

I’m playing on an M1 Max Macbook Pro, running macOS Sequoia 15.3.1. To my knowledge I have everything updated.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Cast Landslide
  2. Client Crashes

Actual Result
Mac client crashes.

Expected Result
Casting Landslide should produce a range targeting reticle without crashing the client.

Workaround

  1. Create a macro to cast Landslide using @cursor
  2. Cast the macro
  3. Spell casts as expected.

Additional Notes
This does not appear to be affecting the PC client.
