Two decor items on my plot are locked indefinitely and cannot be moved, removed or altered in any way. Every time interaction is attempted with the item, it gives the error “Decor selection failed: please try again later.” Now I have a tasteful, yet awkwardly placed, garden flamingo stuck on my roof until a fix is implemented.

I’m having this same issue with an Azsharan Firespear Tree at the moment…there are two of them on my property, but only one of them appears to be bugged. The bugged tree will allow me to select it for a second (both using the Decorate Mode selection tool and the “Placed Decor” list via the Advanced Mode settings), but clears focus right afterward and displays the “Decor selection failed” error. Pressing the R key doesn’t get rid of the tree, and logging in and out doesn’t work, either. :\

Same issue here
For anyone who reads this post, check your error riddled decor after 12 - 24 hours. I was able to adjust the furniture overnight at 9am EST.

I’ve had the issue with a Stormwind Forge on my lawn since Tuesday night. IT’s still there and having the issue. I’ve just kinda accepted its there forever now.

Nice! My tree’s still bugged, but I’m hoping it’ll turn off God mode on its own and I can manage to force it offa’ my lawn. 
In the meantime, I’ve submitted a bug report so Blizzard can take a peek at what might be going on to cause this kind of issue to pop up for players.

In my case, the buggy tree is close to my house in an area with plenty of yard space. It’s possible that the bug could be triggered by a variety of different things, though.
Edit: Was finally able to move the tree after five days! Hopefully this doesn’t happen, again.

Not sure its something people would want to do but i had a couple of decor with the same error and i moved my house to a new spot and was able to remove them just fine.
Also getting this. I logged on a different character, the one that owned the house, and was able to move the item. Issue might be related to changing housing owners.

Ty. It worked, but for me was to log on the character who placed the decor.

Logging onto the character that actually placed the item allowed me to remove it. TY for this suggestion.

This sorted me out - good call.
Experienced the same issue a few moments ago with a ‘Surwich Peddler’s Wagon’.
It’s now living rent-free on my roof now at the wrong size until this bug is fixed.
I (like others who have commented) have tried every attempt to remove the item with no luck and logging in and out, reloading, advanced-mode removal via decor list, pressing R key quickly when clicking the item…nothing has worked and I just get spammed with that same error message: “Decor selection failed: please try again later.”

This worked for me too, had 3 different bugged items and swapping characters worked to remove them.
