Highest level content to be done with a group, is part of the game.
We’re playing an MMOPRG, not a single-player game.
Despite what I said above, I do believe having solo-content is fantastic for WoW – but providing “the best gear in the game” via solo-route rather defeats the purpose of grouping up with others — and ultimately devalues the rewards given to those who overcame the difficulties of uniting as a team and applying teamwork at overcoming obstacles together.
With a few items here & there – Like a mage-tower scenario that could give you a mythic-raid IL piece if you completed it, sure that’d be amazing … But beyond a single item on an entire ‘the best’ gear-scale subject? Hmm, no.
You’ve got pretty high scale gear stuff in the game rewarded from solo-content these days, and as others said you got delves where you can get heroic raid-gear.
You’re complaining about getting heroic-raid gear … from solo content?
… I’m somewhat convinced you might be a troll — Because that’s a pretty solid W for solo-players. lol
Beyond that, what he’s proposing can only go one of three ways due to the fact that the game has 12 classes and a total of 36 specs (with this getting even more convoluted once hero classes become a thing in The War Within) that you are designing this for:
Option A: you drop the diffuclty for this into the abyss thus making it trivial for the purposes of aqquiring gear there by having the knockon effect of invalidating group content (Why party with 5+ people for gear when you can get gear comparatively easily) due to the fact that different specs and roles are going to be wildly different in this environment.
Option B: Certain classes/specs get the shaft. Sorry to everyone that wanted to be a healer, Tank or Augmentation evoker, you folks all get to eat a crap sandwhich so that the chosen DPS get to have a viable route to gear.
Option C: Homogenize the classes to the point where they’re all functionally the same in terms of performance thus invalidating any sort of distinction in playstyle or individual characters.
All of these are worse for the game then this inane single party content OP ostensibly thinks would be good for the game.
its a mmo not a single player game. so no solo content shouldnt give highest ilvl gear. also solo content will always be easier then getting 20 people to do mechanics perfectly
and youre in favor of putting words in peoples mouths. If your going to give a rebuttle how about actually rebuttling what i said vs what you make beleive what i said.
when and where? i will wait. Because im pretty sure what i said was
^
solo content is awesome for things like tmogs like mage tower. so again please keep putting words in my mouth as you just argue with your imaginary friend it seems. peace
Yes, this is what you say in regard to solo content. You are suggesting solo questing be barred because that would be for single player games not MMOs. At least, if you wish to remain consistent.
Regardless, let’s go with your preferred other premise that solo content shouldn’t grant the best gear. Why? If it’s equally as challenging as the group content, why shouldn’t it grant equally powerful gear?
I’m guessing this is where you insist solo questing shouldn’t be available in MMOs again, unknowingly.
andddd we lost him once again putting words in my mouth. questing has a purpose lvling, story, tmog, mounts, basic ilvl gear. thats what questing is for. you want higher ilvl do higher level content because its a MMO massive MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME
IF you want a solo player game may i suggest dragons dogma 2?
it equally isnt. solo content will always be easier then group content. by a long shot. so if you arent doing max end game content you dont need max end game content gear.
youre unknowingly annoying me with putting words in my mouth and speaking like a true bad player
Sure, but group content doesn’t just rely on you. Imagine you have a challenge that you have to play 95% perfectly in order to beat it. Now imagine you have a group challenge where 5 people have to play 95% perfectly on the same attempt.
The second scenario is much harder than the first as there are many more variables. So no matter what type of solo content there is, it’s not likely to be as hard as group content. Unless you just want them to tune the solo content numbers to the point that it’s impossible.
I don’t see why it would personally be harder for you. You simply do your part well, and you get the reward if everyone else does the same. This leads back into the idea that the AI’s should fail as much as the average team mate would fail.
But again, this is the clunkiest version of the solo content idea. It would be better to make entirely different solo set ups where the player has to partially control healing and tanking and dps. These game modes would be two different sets of skills.
But the straight AI would be fine as a placeholder until then.
This is why we need max level toons only in wow forums so we can vet out trolls and people who just want to cause drama like the OP. he went so far as to start putting words into my mouth and others because his arguements hold zero ground
