Bags keeping Tailoring relevant lol.
okay good luck with your decision
Was more of a joke tbh, but I am upset about it. But skipping 10 days is a bit of an asinine thing. I just said it cause that is what the cry baby faction did to get the change. Threaten to just skip event if they didnât change it.
Thatâs pretty much the definition of PvP, isnât it?
Nope. Itâs PvX. Iâm a ghoul so Iâm in a different set of rules from a player who gets their class and level rules. This sort of idea was done in LoTRO With Player Versus Monster mode. With PvP players can attack my player character, but as a Ghoul players can only attack my monster character. I can understand if you are unable to distinguish this subtle but important difference though. A lot of people have a hard time.
if thats ALL they had done, then most people wouldnât have a problem with it⌠but thats not all they did, they nerfed the damage of the ghouls into the ground, nerfed the health into the ground, and nerfed the timers as well.
the ghouls went from a credible threat, to getting 1 shotted before they could do any damage.
No. Thatâs still PvP.
Yes you still do.
Just because you think itâs pointless, doesnât make it so.
So instead of sitting here, telling us âOh itâs pointless, itâs no funâ⌠why not go do something else then if you hate it so much? Like i donât know, play Left for Dead 2?
i heard the Last stand map is pretty good. ![]()
You must have it really hard with people opting in and out in Warmode and PvP servers, as well everything else. I canât honestly imagine being genuinely bothered by this. ![]()
Again, this can be said for Warmode, PvP servers, Raids, so on.
Does this genuinely bother you knowing that people have a carbon copy that people can switch too? Thereâs a thing called suspension of disbelief. I can suspend my disbelief that i took over the town as a 40 man raid team in Org, killing the Warchief or a 10 man in SoO, going though Orgrimmar, all the meanwhile there is a âSafeâ copy where the people are still able to walk though the city unscathed. And if i can do that, i can easily do that with this.
Again, your acting like this is an infringement on your enjoyment here.
Well iâm telling you thatâs not a great idea if you want to keep this event for long as possible because logging out will send a red flag to Blizzard, forcing them to cut it short. I mean didnât that what has happened with the Wrath one?
Because having the choice to go back into the normal gameplay does no harm to the event. Acting like it does doesnât make it so. And wanting that choice to be taken away is pretty selfish. Itâs obviously a good idea to have choices to opt in and out of modes/activities, and this is what the pre-patch zombie mode is, a mode/activity.
We both know, that ghoul players vs human players is pvp regardless how much you want to dance around that fact. If you can kill another player regardless if your a ghoul or not, itâs PvP. ![]()
How does it strip itâs PvE aspect of it? what PvE aspect exactly?
I mean, doesnât Warmode and PVP servers still has itâs PvE aspects, since itâs PvE with World PvP perma on?
I can agree with that.
Like i said, they needed a Middleground, not to go from one extreme to other.
Personally Id love it to be warmode only lol. I will just have to miss out but i will survive.
It really isnât itâs more restrictive then PvP while being less restrictive. It has an entire different rule set.
You are your own faction, allowing you to attack both sides.
You operate in a vehicle instead of a player character
And once you revert you are no longer able to be attacked.
PvP Only allows you to attack the opposing character faction and generally is done using your character and not a vehicle with the exclusion of a handful of battlegrounds. Even then itâs never your same faction.
Furthermore, This event could be done entirely by the ghoul player doing PvE focused things only. The Ghoul could focus on transforming the barber shop, transmog vendors, and auction house into Ghouls. While never directly attacking a player. Killing these npcs would turn them into ghouls which could then attack players as NPC and potentially turn the player into ghouls. In this process nobody entered PvP.
PvX? ![]()
Well lets take a look at this âPVMMâ in itâs wiki.
What is Monster Play?
LOTRO offers a unique form of player vs. player combat known as Monster Play. Players are transported to the Ettenmoors, a consensual PvMP (Player vs. Monster Player) region about the size of the Shire. Here, the Free Peoples and the Forces of Angmar are in constant active conflict, and players can choose to join the fight as either their normal player character (at level 20 and above), or as one of the servants of the Enemy!
Hmmmmmm⌠so you become a monster and you kill other players with a different abilites⌠![]()
Give me a minute, let me process this in my little head-meat and contemplate this on the tree of âwhoaâ⌠Hmm⌠give me a secondâŚ
Hmmmmm⌠HHHHHHHHHHmmmmâŚ-- Oh, wait, i got it! ![]()
Itâs still PvP. ![]()
they didnât need a middle ground. the scourge isnât something you should be able to skip. the people of lordaeron couldnât skip it. it wasnât skippable in the lich king pre patch.
you keep dodging the part where people donât want to be forced into warmode. and keep dodging the part where people who want to do the event, but hate warmode, are having their choice taken away from them to not be in warmode. how is that not selfish? and like i said earlier. if people want to skip it, then warmode should have been where they go. donât want to play the event? then you get to be in pvp mode leaving yourself open to random ganking and griefing. to people who donât want to be in pvp mode and hate warmode, it feels like a penalty for wanting to play the event.
Looks at Stranglethornâs arena, Legionâs FFA areas and so on
Looks at Wintergrasp Vehicles
Looks at this event, Legionâs and Wrathâs
Legion event wasnât PvP, nor was Wraths. They was playing by a different ruleset.
but that what the people that wanted the opt in were told as well as insulted and called names
how does turn about feel
What are you talking about, I just said actually leaving would be asinine.
If the objective of your gameplay is to disrupt someone elseâs gameplay, to me you are PvPing and belong in warmode.
I can see no good that can ever come from putting us on the same map.
Guys, whatever way you may look at it, at the end of the day itâs still only going to last for less then two weeks(?). It genuinely sucks that this event doesnât make everyone happy, bc this is supposed to be a celebratory time for people⌠but then again, itâs almost impossible to appease everyone.
Sometimes things just stink and thereâs nothing we can do about it. That applies to both the game and real life. But thankfully, itâs not a lasting thing⌠so itâll be over soon <3
I guess the only thing you can do besides trying to find a positive aspect of the situation is to just grit your teeth. Who knows, maybe blizz will surprise us and find a better way to suit peoples wants.
All the good things that happened when they did it in Legion, which was an extremely successful event.
