About ready to get rid of it with all the fake deaths people are posting in it.
It’s fantastic, but I wish Blizzard would make an official version of it so it can’t just be faked. Too many fake pings. Gets old.

I already got rid of it. It was nice but all the fake deaths ruined it for me.
everyone in this thread talking about tons of fake death notices, I guess I have never seen any because I havent heard of anyone level 999 dying in GM island to thrall or anything crazy like that.

Yep I’ve seen those.
Most of the fake ones I’ve seen aren’t that crazy, but they’re fake level 55+ dying to stuff like drowning or whatnot.
I turned off death notifications and minimize the log. I mostly keep it installed to have the heat map.
Because deathlog functions via a chat channel, if you /ignore the offending party making false alerts you will stop seeing them (from that particular character). I’ve seen maybe 3-4 toons so far somewhat regularly posting fake deaths, and so far it’s been easy to counteract.
I’d still prefer an official blizzard method for faction-wide death notices with similar features, however.
