According to Archon.gg, Deathblow, which is in the Hunter class tree, not to be confused with Improved Deathblow, is only taken about 41% of the time in Mythic+, for MM Hunter. The Wowhead guide recommends it for every build.
Cause as sentinel in m+ build you don’t press kill shot ever, therefore it’s more better to spend the point somewhere else. Dark ranger you take it cause you press kill shot a majority of the key
I dabble in hunter, and I mean dabble, dude. Basically everybody knows more than I do -
So! Why don’t you use your execute as Sentinel in M+? Kill Shot always seemed like a really good damage for GCD investment to me. Is there something else that should take priority?
Because you don’t take any of the talents in mm that actually make kill shot do good damage when you play sentinel. Kill shot is just a simple single target spell that does meh damage on its own. You have more value pressing your other spells. Even steady shot to lower the cooldown of aimed shot is way more valuable than kill shot.
kill shot is in a really weird spot for non dark ranger marksmanship hunters. it’s not worth pressing the ability as the GCD you spend on that can be spent on other things you have in your kit that actually interact with other abilities
for pack leader survival for example, instead of pressing kill shot you can press mongoose bite which apples serpent sting, gives howl of the pack cooldown, can reset kill command cooldown, etc
abilities don’t exist in a vacuum—if you press ability B it means you didn’t press ability A. while ability B may have more damage in the tooltip than ability A, one also needs to consider other passive benefits to A over B
Yeah I keep going back and forth between Wowhead, Icyviens, and Archon.gg. The two guides give information that doesn’t follow with the popular choices on Archon. What I have done now is to go to WoWlogs and look at the builds that the top Hunters use. They are most focused on optimizing their combat, so that would give you an idea what to take.
